Mr. Wrong Reviews
This movie is grossly underrated. Joan Cusack and Dean Stockwell are exceptional. Bill Pullman pulls of just the right amount of wry wit. There are also little touches, such as Bill's character actually getting uglier as his luster fades. The one shortcoming is Ellen's performance, which is a bit stiffer than her character was meant to be, or that is how it comes off. But hey, Ellen is a stand up comedian, and a successful television host. Her acting was a short foray and she had no time to develop those skills. One may also keep in mind this was shortly before Ellen came out as gay, so that may have added some pressure. All in all I have see this movie about 20 times and will be watching many more.
Ok, not the funniest movie in the world, but certainly not the worst rom-com ever. Seriously, 7%!!! I think the critics were overly harsh with this film. Yeah, the humour is outdated and a bit flat at times, but I still wouldn't call this the worst rom-com ever made. My final verdict: 2 and a half stars: even with its flaws, it's still an interesting movie to watch and wouldn't mind re-watching or recommending this to someone.
Saw this in the theater, and over half the audience walked out. It had so much potential to be funny, which made it even worse. Ellen tells the story of how she accidentally murdered her husband on their wedding day. When she meets and falls for him, she realized that her perfect Mr. Right is anything but, and tries to break up. He is a sociopath, drugs and kidnaps her to marry him. Should've been hilarious, but it's 2 hrs of your life that you'll never get back.
Bill Pullman is a blast, the film is not.
This is the antithesis of all the treacle Bullock and Meg Ryan led rom-coms of the 90s, and the antidote. I prescribed it to someone who believed too fervently in Serendipity.
Mr. Wrong was a pretty bad movie. There was so many scenes that got really weird and I was just not too impressed. This is the one where Ellen degeneres gets fooled and sabotaged by Bill Pullman's character. There was a couple sex humor in it and crude language. Ever since the film came out in 1996 it was a total box office bomb which means it is one of the most hated movies ever. Most of the humor that they put in the movie the film got a PG-13 rating. After watching this for the first time of it was rated now it would definitely be R. One of the worst comedies ever made. Mr. wrong, and Spy hard are really bad rotten comedies.
"Aivot narikkaan" -leffa, Hauska, mutta loppua kohden meni koko touhu jo vähän yli hilseen... ;) (Suom. Se ainoa väärä)
A very wow movie, Bill Pullman was very annoying in this movie, but still a funny movie, Ellen on the other hand, was an amazing actress in this movie BTW, love her in Finding Nemo and can't wait to her to be on Finding Dory, I'm totally watching that!! <3 :D ;) :)
This has always been a favorite guilty-pleasure movie of mine. I think it's a fabulous movie and I could watch it over and over again. :)
This whole movie is wrong. It should be "Mrs. Wrong". Come on, did anyone buy Ellen in love with a man?
Ellen just cracks me up in this. She rocks.
This is a funny movie, despite the negative reviews. It's entertaining and has quite a few twists and turns. Ellen Degeneres and Bill Pullman have chemistry, believe it or not.
