Night Comes On Reviews
Powerful and compassionate, with the feel of authenticity and insight into all its characters. Stunning, superb acting, too.
This is a gritty film. Its not an action film but it does reasonably well at portraying siblings trying to get some form of justice for what has happened to them. It features some good camerawork and isn't overly full of dialogue but I think that helps it to seem a bit more substantial than, perhaps, other similar films. Its not quite what I expected and it isn't a film likely to stay in my mind for very long but that aside, its not a bad film...an ok one. I wouldn't especially recommend going out of your way to see it but if its on 온라인카지노추천 and interests you then it may be worth a watch.
Entertaining enough, but just okay.
Incredible Experience. Beyond a movie. Are these actors? This plays like a memory of genuine humans.
This was a very well acted movie that felt like a short story the whole way through it’s not a long movie either but just not well flushed out to even be as long as it was, I do hope people see it though for the performances of the 2 lead actors.
From the music to the sublime acting, this was such a beautiful film. At no point did it feel like I was watching a movie. This was as close to life as it gets.
A family that fell apart continues to try for a future. But will it be together?
In jail a young girl's plan to kill her father is outweighed by a younger sibling who remains in child services care. Dream sequence's introduce a kind mother and help develop the plot leading to the acquisition of a gun. Transparent over worked child service workers, disturbing pedophile scene pair with a street smart heroine only to realize her father has changed. If this is indicative of the current situation for troubled youth it is disturbing.
Both potent and poignant, giving a lot for the more fortunate of us to ponder ... if we can bring ourselves to do so.
Way too slow and not really interesting. Don't get all the positive reviews. Could not finish this movie. Does show the despair for people with little to no education and destructive family life. Would not recommend it.
Two thumbs up...WAY UP!!! Welcome to directing Jordan's Spiro and congratulations on a hell of a year Dominique Fishback
"Night comes on" might be a bit banal, but its intensity and good heart make up for the absence of a new story. I would have liked a bit more pathos in the final stretch, but overall a good movie!
The performances are fantastic all-around in this tale of two sisters that finds hope in the seemingly most hopeless of places.
This brave and luminous story is a study in many things. It's a craft to take your audience on a journey of so much compassion and hope. Many things will continue to reverberate in your heart and mind after you enjoy this film. The little moments of stillness where you are allowed to peer into there thoughts. The pace where you are ushered through the agony of such bitter circumstances. All magical films start with a compelling script and this was written by two women who obviously inhabited there characters. The casting is indescribably perfection. These sisters will never leave your heart and the talented young ladies that inhabited them are noting short of revelatory. The direction has the heart, compassion and honesty of craft that is nothing short of amazing for a seasoned director yet this is a first time director! It's not in wide release but it's worth effort to seek out this stunning film.
Though short on Dialogue, Co-Writer and director Jordana Spiro makes the most out of her first feature film. Set in Philadelphia, it's the story of a girl (Dominique Fishback) , who just turned 18, getting released from prison into a world that is complicated. She goes through numerous emotions, all of which Fishback makes you feel. She's a dynamic young actress. Her younger sister in the film, portrayed by Tatum Marilyn Hall, is equally effective. They have a great chemistry. The duo and the direction of Spiro carry this film. It's an onslaught of feelings and wonder. One scene is deftly tied to the next all the while the 87 minutes fly by. It's essentially a character study and a what would you do combined into one. It's a solidly crafted film. Final Score: 8.3/10
A well-balanced portrayal of real life hardship that keeps love and empathy within reach. Incredible performance by Dominique Fishback as well as Tatum Hall.
This film was stunning, breathtaking, heartbreaking and magnificent. It is testament to what can be done with a small budget, a deeply moving and intimate story, and filmmakers who care intensely about humanity and about the subject of their film. Everything was so perfect about this movie I don't even want to spoil it by praising specific aspects. If there is any justice in the world this film will be nominated for an Oscar.
