Nightbitch Reviews

Apr 15, 2025

Such a good movie very relevant , very emotional , Amy Adam’s was fantastic as always

Promising trailer, but in reality, very boring, slow paced. It lacked an original score for background music, some scenes where too slow and silent, making it even more boring than what it was. Basically nothing happened and the ending was meh. Maybe a lonely, bored, basic mom will enjoy this film. IT GAVE NOTHING.

This could easily be an arts and crafty spin off of the television series Malcom In the Middle. Dudes waiting for something horrific to happen will not find it in this "meh" introspective and comical look at the primal instincts of motherhood. But if you want see how charming and sexy Amy Adams still is with a little more weight- and eight nipples, then you might enjoy it.

This movie is so incredible powerful. You really have to stay till the end of the ride to enjoy it.

How could this film be rated so poorly? What a disservice to parents all around. Please watch this film and enjoy its wonderful message. Choose yourself first. Then everything else will fall into place.

Adams is great, but neither exceptionally funny nor scary.

I thought this looked interesting without looking too much into it at first. Ugh, wish I hadn't. Just self-indulgent nonsense. Amy Adams is a good actress and the theme of mythical animals is interesting - that would have been a better angle perhaps but the movie is just boring and so repetitive. Over and over again we are bashed over the head over how hard it is to be a mother and how motherhood is trauma. Trauma dumping would be a better title for this movie.

I am definitely not the target audience for this (not a parent, never married) but I really enjoyed this film, except for the back pimple thing part (idk I covered the screen so not sure what came out after the needle popped it). I went into this blind not even seeing a trailer or reading anything so had no expectations. Just knew it had Any Adams so it was probably good. It was. She's wonderful and I liked her character. The dad/husband, I hated the character (not the actors fault). Maybe we are supposed to hate him, but I don't even like when they try and give him redemption. Kid was ok, it did seem like he wasn't acting, just Amy doing improv with him, which is fine, it does make it more real. End of the day it is a really weird movie, clearly adapted from a book. It did feel like a sibling to "Wolf Like Me". I mean the werewolf-ish themes, the similarities between Amy and Isla Fisher and parental themes all play into that. Definitely worth a watch.

Terrible mother discovers that she is a furry

Nightbitch is an intriguing and interesting film. It's dark at times and funny at others. Even if it doesn't all come together I found it quite well made and always offering something. The main character is just known as Mother. She has paused her career as an artist to be a stay at home mother for her 2YO son. But her husband is away for work most of the time and she begins to resent her current life. Motherhood has become a huge struggle. Surreal changes begin to occur. She starts to grow fur in unusual places and has heightened senses. Basically she is slowly turning into a dog. It's actually a release for her and from her marriage which is slowly going sideways. This is a mild form of horror film, but more like a dark comedy with some apt commentary on motherhood. Amy Adams is great in the lead role, with Scoot McNairy being reliable as usual. I found this film to be quite intelligent and always interesting.

For the umpteenth time, I am sick and tired of hearing women who CHOSE to have kids, I repeat CHOSE to have kids, because they stupidly thought it was all rainbows and butterflies, after we(those who do not have kids, yet still had to help raise our nephews and nieces) specifically told them about the sleepless nights we, I mean they would have to endure, the constant temper tantrums that would need putting up with, the nappy changes, the baths, the feeding, etc, etc, etc, so forth and so on, which one has to see to when dealing or in this instance, raising a child. But did those knuckle head, dim-witted, pebbles for brains, moronic bimbos listen? I repeated, did they listen? Well in that case, shut the #### up, and stop bloody complaining now, 9 months later when you thought you knew best and popped out a "blessing". Go and be a mother and stop complaining and guilt-tripping the rest of us women who CHOSE not to have kids. I will not, I repeat, will not feel sorry for you, you ignoramus, stubborn oaf! One last thing...to all the decent, respectable moms out there who raise their children without blaming the rest of us for the predicament they're in...I just want to say, you're doing a great job! I commend you. Take care & have a nice day🙂✋️

Nightbitch tries to be clever, but it fails in doing so and actually does the opposite, being stupid. Its runtime is short, but it feels so prolonged and why does she make her kid sleep in a dog bed and eat out of a dog bowl? I know she thought she was turning into a dog (or it was all just a metaphor I couldn’t even tell at this point), but that is a HUMAN CHILD. 2/10 at least Amy Adams was a tiny bit decent.

A good idea looking at motherhood as a horror story, maybe not successfully executed.

This movie is so bad that I have to make an account to rate it. Super boring and pointless

Mar 3, 2025

Wasn't my type of movie. Very boring really Wasn't intriguing. It's describe as a horror comedy, not once I laughed through this movie

Yhese three stars are for Amy Adams. She is the backbone of the film, such a talented actress that even in a poorly structured movie, she still shines.

Even as a father in watching this motherhood oriented film I still connected wholeheartedly. Although every possible aspect about motherhood/fatherhood/parenthood has been examined in film and literature I felt this was a stand alone and fresh experience. I love the movie and I emphatically suggest you watch it.

Expounding on a meaningful subject trying to show your intelligence and nail it. Your six and eight year old exclaim how they hope to be as smart as you some day. That is not this movie. Your six and eight year old thinks it’s dumb.

Mindless, stupid, and a complete waste of time. I’d rather have a root canal than watch this tripe again.
