The focus of this film rests on Avery Klein-Cloud, a teenage African-American girl living in Brooklyn, N.Y., with her Caucasian Jewish lesbian mothers and two brothers who are also of other races. Audience Member Emotionally involving documentary about adoption and the search for birth parents. Her search and contact with her birth mother causes Avery to fall into a downward spiral. Thankfully she manages to pull herself out of it but the journey is long and painful. A fascinating look at a modern American family and the obstacles they face. Thank goodness for diversity.
