Omni Loop Reviews
Incredibly slow and disappointing. The excitement you feel at the start of the film just continues to deflate as the story continues. I unfortunately fell asleep several times while trying to finish.
It's a slow paced movie that deals with loss and coming to grips with one's fate. A worthwhile time loop movie.
Mary-Louise Parker gives a touching, resonant performance in this plot’s dissection of time loops that further ask the usual pondering questions over the matter with surprising results at a mindful pace, while also concluding in a differentially ambiguous twist. (B)
Loved it !!! Forget the BS reviews, it's a well acted, well produced movie that should bring tears
One thing that really annoyed me was a continuity/logic error: the main character's married last name was printed on the pill bottle, that she recognized as being her name when she was only 12. Same as last name on the book she co-authored with her husband. Same last name as her mother's last name, we saw on her mother's boxes in the retirement home storage. Unless she married her brother, this makes no sense. Sloppy.
Avoid if you can. This movie is slow, boring, repetitive and has no point to it at all. Go watch about time, groundhogs day, edge of tomorrow, or Palm Springs for your loop fix. Bad movie!
I love the concept and the main actors but the movie was painful to watch. So bad. I wanted to go back in time and choose a different movie to watch. Disappointing.
The acting was soo poor by everyone involved it felt like they had no lines and were adlibing every scene.
This is more of a reflective movie on what it means to be fulfilled rather than a sci fi movie; I think some replies calling it boring may be because of false expectations. Ayo Edibiri is phenomenal as always. Mary-Louis Parker was such a masterclass in subtle emotion. The story is brilliant and poignant. I think if you've ever had a moment in your life when you just wish you could turn back the clock and try again, you'll love this movie.
How anyone could say this a great movie is beyond me. This shows that people are not as intelligent and unable to write a good script.
Slowly evolving plot with myriad unexpected twists. The story developed slowly, requiring some patience on the viewer's part, but plenty intriguing all the same. There is depth and ambiguity, which makes this a powerful film that works on several levels. There is an obvious message one comes to in the end, but I loved that the film also implied other possible worlds and alternative endings. As always, Mary-Louise Parker was exceptional. She is such a captivating performer; conveys worlds in subtle facial expressions. Ayo Edebiri was also rock solid.
The groundhog genre strikes again. But now in a philosophical feminine way. So bad that this has so many plot holes that they know and don’t even care.
Omg just please don’t waste your time on this half baked story. There was so many loops the story lacked content, it could have been summed up in 2 scenes. Just your typical movie about a women acceptance of death.
There are some really beautiful moments in this film, but I found it very slow. Palms Springs may not be as smart as this film, but its far more interesting and funny imo,
If you get the lucky chance to watch this movie quickly run to the tallest building and throw yourself off. It will be far more rewarding.
I've watched it twice now and actually picked up on things the second time around that I didn't catch the first time. It was a beautiful story and so many of the details have me still thinking about it. I absolutely loved it! So many seemingly unimportant parts really do have connection and meaning.
Like others said, it starts off at a good pace then just crawls like a snail midway through. I struggled to stay awake during the last half. Mary-Louise Parker was not a believable cast for the part of a brilliant scientist. I've seen her in more episodes of Weeds than any amount of movies that she's been in so she's kind of fit that ditzy stereotype. I can't believe I sat through the entire movie for nothing to get resolved. And no, she does not change the world!
The cheap music was irritating
Parker and Edebiri fully work but the rest is a bit too high concept, especially when it tries to deliver SF ideas
your typical Groundhog's Day style film, that starts off good but becomes redundant. This one didn't have much of an ending either.
