On the Line Reviews
I knew 10 minutes in that I needed to turn it off, but unfortunately I finished watching. Cheesy script, amateur directing, and the acting sucked (including Mel Gibson surprisingly). I need two hours of my life back. Don’t waste your time on the C-movie
The end pissed me off. I thought there was a real antagonist.
The movie is solid until the not needed twist ending. Feels like the writer dug a whole to deep to write himself out of. Just go watch phone booth. Its the same premise with a better execution.
What a stupid pointless movie. I give it 💩💩💩💩💩
Not good. Surprise ending if you are just not thinking at all. Not good.
Easily the greatest thriller of all time, guaranteed to keep you constantly on the edge of your seat. There are only 3 types of negative reviewers: The ones who hate the ending, the ones who hate Mel Gibson, and the ones who hate the ending and Mel Gibson.
Negative reviews are WAY off or just don't like Mel Gibson. Gripping thriller with no lulls except maybe the first 10 minutes. Basically a good thriller is one that keeps you interested and wondering who, how, etc. This is it. (Not a slasher film) There are those who criticize the acting - no spoiler here, but for those who said Mel forgot how to act don't get it - he role was perfect. No saying anymore, just watch it!
Horrendous. Don’t even waste your time. Awful. Worth negative stars
If they wanted to, this would’ve been a decent thriller to seriously justify its categorization, only to find a trapping front that gradually show the obvious “grip” amid rapidly lost interest through the downplaying screenplay and intolerable execution, clearly guaranteeing unsatisfactory in negative disapproval. Quite possibly the worst movie I've seen, although it might sit behind Poetic Justice. Beyond predictable. Acting is atrocious. It's almost like a school play...super corny. And the one liners from Gibson seem to have been written by an 85 year old man because they're straight out of a 50s sitcom. Someone green lit this?? Unreal...
This movie is one of the worst movies that I have ever seen. Mel Gibson should be embarrased.
Why was this movie made
I can't believe this is MEL GIBSON, it's like he forgot to act. In fact everyone was awful. Not even a drop of sweat on the forehead or a tear thinking your family have been shot. The producer should be ashamed.
“It can’t get any worse, right?” “It can’t get any worse, right?” “It can’t get any worse, right?” “It can’t get any worse, right?” “It can’t get any worse, right?” “It can’t get any worse, right?” “It can’t get any worse, right?”
The beginning is great. It had me hooked. Half way in the movie, the acting became really bad. Did funding get cut? It started strong and ended horribly.
I feel like this movie deserves more credit. I thought the movie was good, not to mention the crazy plot twist at the end that I never saw coming. Plus, it's Mel freaking Gibson!! C'mon... It's definitely better than what it's rotten score leads you to believe.
Mel Gibson has always been one of my favorite actors, this movie I started with my wife not knowing what it entailed. It sounded like a great plot so we got sunk into it. I got drawn more and more into the thought of a psychopathic listener taking out his family and running him through the wringer. When the ending came up I was not expecting it to unfold that way. Only one thing I would pick apart and it’s because of my true occupation, the SWAT uniforms, close but not quite LAPD SWAT. But it was an outstanding film in my perspective.
Worst Mel Gibson movie! Total waste of time!!
I created an account just to let you know that this was a good movie! It’s not an all time classic, but If you’re looking for a good little thriller late at night, this was a really enjoyable ride. I understand why more critical viewers wouldn’t enjoy the ending, but for what it’s worth I liked it.
So I’m not gonna go into a crazy rant I’ll keep it simple. First the beginning of the movie with the weird guy coming into the building demanding airtime was wildly misleading. Secondly the concept of the movie was heading into a great if not decent ending. Third the ending choice the director chose was definitely the worst by ending the movie with a prank is a joke in itself. I am a huge fan of Mel Gibson but this one is not a good one to add on the resume.
