Audience Member Preposterous, creaky old chestnut saved almost totally by a beautiful Margaret Sullavan, in her screen bow, performance. The other saving grace is lovely work by Billie Burke otherwise there are many better films dealing with the unwed mother trope. The ending is terribly abrupt.
