Our Souls at Night Reviews
Very wholesome movie was definitely a fan, didn't like the ending, could have made it better yet still worthwhile
For context, I’m a 76 year old man. I have watched this movie at least five times, and I’ve enjoyed it every time. If you don’t enjoy it, wait till you’re 76. It will grow on you.
Good but not great. Redford and Fonda are classic pros.
Low key, beyond subtle, almost catatonic at times, buoyed by two legends. Redford excels better than Fonda.
Sometimes the simple beauty of a loving relationship is enough to drive away the anxieties of reality. A credit to Jane Fonda, Robert Redford and all the production team.
A sweet movie about aging, family, and community. It's pretty "aw shucks" overall, but has a lot of heart and a lot of good gentle reminders of the reality of getting old and managing family, relationships, and your own desires. Jane Fonda and Robert Redford anchor the movie so strongly and their performances are very endearing. There's nothing truly great about Our Souls at Night and that's okay - there's more than enough space for wholesome dramas like this.
BORING . Not serious Not funny Not entertaining
Really beautiful, sensitive film. So glad so see a slow, deep, real film coming out from America. It has a similar rhymth to Japanese films, able to portray something that isn't physical. A film where you come away with the negative space as much as the filming itself.
This is a beautifully rendered story, extraordinarily well-acted. It builds slowly, offering a window into the wisdom of older people who benefit from new connection, easing both loneliness and the consequences of old scars.
No Happy end, what a disappointing ending
Worst, slowest movie I've ever seen. Maybe Jane was ok. Redford was horrible. Zero personality. Torture to watch.
o filme tem uma ideia interessante e cumpre ela muito bem,mas na metade pra cima parecia meio sem "sal",mas nada que comprometa a experiencia
A poignant story of an older aged romance that keeps you wanting for more, this film is unhurried and yet deeply engaging. Ritesh Batra steps up to the brilliance of Robert Redford and Jane Fonda, whose ephemeral love story offers a delightfully fresh perspective on love.
A unique, charming film, expertly led by veteran stars
Great cast and a nice story overall, but it is a slow build to get to the heart of it. It had a lot of potential, but the story leaves you hanging in the end.
It is a mystery to me that this film got any good reviews. It had every cliche about aging, except Jane Fonda still has her Workout body and at 83 Robert Redford still feels compelled to dye his hair. So these pretty people pass for aged by Hollywood's warped standards. The film doesn't miss one cliche: Old people live in homes decorated in 1930, spend their time sitting quietly, have outdated phones, and drive old cars. Also, somehow (in their 80s!!), these two have kids who are still just starting out in life. There are some shorthand exchanges of past pain and sin, and Jane Fonda unexplainably folds before her drunk neglectful son's cliched resentments without firing a shot. Finally things drag to a close. Redford still can't act and Jane can, but if you want a good story about love and aging, watch I온라인카지노추천's Last Tango in Halifax. The British don't require their old people to try and look 40.
Sad to see two acclaimed actors ageing, but well played and an interesting topic.
Watched over the Christmas period. A lovely, soft, romantic film with a truly excellent storyline. Fonda and Redford are brilliant, they give an acting masterclass. Highly recommended.
Beautifully acted. Just watch Redford and Fonda's faces for an advanced class in emotional expression.
