Overboard Reviews
I thought this was a really fun movie. I came across it on prime and so pleased I did. Lots of funny dialogue and very good acting. The young cast who played the daughters were great. A good message and fun. What more could you want
This is a great little comedy romance and I enjoyed the nods to the first Overboard movie. I love watching them back to back, and have watched both renditions many times.
This is a good film. Light hearted, funny and warm.
Very unique plot with a blast of comedy and a great message!
I’m not sure why this movie received such bad reviews. This movie was great. Fun from start to finish, and funny! Yes, it’s a remake from the original. But if you’re able to detach yourself from the original, this movie stands on its own legs.
0 stars is not an option.
Full of cringe and a shotty knock-off of the original. They couldn't even come up with any original dialog...directly quoting the original movie. Don't waste your time!
The movie was a very exciting adventure from start to finish
this is a great remake to another great 80s movie Eugenio derbez was really good in this movie and anna Faris was really good in this movie as well watch this movie its really good
I suppose if you want to be optimistic, you can always say a bad remake will lead you to appreciate the original that much more! The first OVERBOARD won't be remembered as one of cinema's great comedies, but it was amiable, a lot of fun and had a wonderful rapport between Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. This needless remake, which often lifts dialogue word for word from the original, is pretty much dead in the water. The biggest problem by far is that Derbez and Faris have zero chemistry. And it doesn't help matters that he looks old enough to be her father. Derbez is downright horrible in the first act and gradually works up to adequate by the end. Faris starts out well but peters out by the end. And when these two share scenes together, well, I've seen nuns with more sexual chemistry. A slight change in the climax from the original movie is catastrophic and lessens what impact the end of the movie could have had. We wanted Kurt and Goldie to end up together in the first movie. Sadly, the same can't be said for Eugenio and Anna.
Para .i es igual o mejor que su versión clásica y me encanto
I never saw the original and this one was just okay.
A film featuring A dog crapping on a copy of the original movie script would have been way more entertaining if it turned into a horror/thriller/comedy & the yacht was scuttled into a reef with no survivors. I'm laughing just thinking about it!
This was an awesome movie! Definitely watch
It didn't really work the first time around and this film makes that one look like a classic.
I really enjoyed the comedy. I thought it was hilarious. It brought feelings of longing for a husband who cooks, cleans and goes to work
A fun spanish comedy
Do yourself a favor and just watch the original instead, you will enjoy it, can't say the same about this mess.
I was completely fine sitting through this despite how closely it hewed to the original, mostly because Faris is excellent and Eugenio is oddly captivating as a leading man, perhaps because the American market isn't saturated with him. I always find it mildly cringey when one of the romantic leads is involved with the movie's production as it reveals a level of vanity that's surely within most actors but is usually easier to ignore. The supporting cast was significantly worse this time than they had been in the original version, but they did a better job at not overdoing the amnesiac's learning curve. The most interesting part of this to me is that Farris married this movie's cinematographer, a move right out of Julia Roberts's playbook!
Failed remake of a classic with actors who alone are great but have no chemistry whatsoever in this movie.
