Priscilla Reviews
everything about this film is gold
SOFIA YOUVE DONE IT AGAIN
Nothing new. It was just the way Elvis was. She was treated terrible.
This was a better movie than I expected overall, and it was nice to see a film as a contrast to the previously released Elvis film. Although I was not fond of the actor who played Elvis and did not find him wholly convincing, it was interesting to see a darker side to things and to not see him painted in some odd sainthood or worship. The whole relationship between them is definitely unnerving, and I still cannot quite fathom what her parents were thinking. Different time I guess, but still. Eye Opening!
I thought it was very dull. The story line could have been a lot better. She barely spoke and this was suppose to be about her life with Elvis. Not a very good movie.
Great movie. They aged Priscilla really well and really gave her the spotlight as opposed to the Elvis movie with Austin Butler. Jacob also plays a better Elvis than Austin.
There's a reason Lisa Marie didn't approve of the script. It felt like the film purposely trashed Elvis at every opportunity while portraying Priscilla as the victim who was completely helpless. Sofia Coppola is such a great director but I didn't enjoy this film at all.
It was boring and full of old news.
a little slow paced, but overall, a great movie. Excellent acting and cinematically beautiful. I also liked the score.
First, the actors did a good job. The rest, however, was very shallow. I am embarrassed that this movie does not require any thought. The producer didn't explore any depth of character or relationship arcs with her family or friends. Slow and disrespectful to a thoughtful audience. Just seems like there was no effort put into the movie.
I/we had high hopes for this movie, but it was a very plain and boring film. There was so many scenes that give you an idea about what happened but not the full story. So for someone who wouldnt already know about the real life drama about Elvis and Pricillas relationship and marriage, this would leave people with more questions than answers. All the missing details about the different events just minimize the potential this movie could have had. Dont bother watching this one. Save your money for another movie.
Movie was very slow and a little boring but it was nice to see her side of the experience
It was okay, but somewhat boring. Already knew what Elvis was like with Priscilla controlling, manipulative behavior with her....was hoping to see more of him in concert or singing!!
Warning to Elvis fans: this movie does NOT portray Elvis in a positive light.
rather slow moving and depressing at times
Be prepared for a film that is more "artsy"--and don't expect Elvis music. I had read the book when it first came out in the mid-80's, and it follows the book from what I can remember. Casting wise--I grew to like the actor portraying Elvis. The actress portraying Priscilla was very good....but I never was comfortable with her in the role. She is very short compared to the Elvis in this movie (like more than 17"!). Their actual height difference was 8" (had to Google, as this really was weird to me). Really appreciated the costuming and scenery, as well as the look of the film. OVERALL--glad I saw this.
Very eloquently done and respectful to the memory of Elvis while giving a glimpse to the side we didn't see.
Not very interesting
You got an insight on Priscilla live with Elvis.
Took a turn from what we saw from the outside world. Really got an inside view into the dinamic between Elvis and Priscilla.
