Psycho III Reviews
While It can be funny it don't think it's the most enjoyable but it's better than the remake.
The franchise overstaying its welcome, Psycho III is proof that you can't teach an old slasher dog new slasher tricks.
Psycho 3 is an odd final trilogy and this Norman Bates first time directing and he did really fine directing and followed Hitchcock skills and he's work to make it an dark comedy slasher with a somewhat twist at the end but I really enjoyed it not scary it's a good late 80's slasher movie.
Une suite qui fait le taf sans être trop originale et intéressante non plus.
There's only so many times you can make the same movie and have it not be boring.
This is the weirdest sequel In the Psycho franchise but hey it's still watchable
They really made back-to-back excellent decisions by making both of the wide-release sequels be more plot-heavy than most other slasher movies. They knew they weren't going to make as stylish a movie as the first one and instead focused on a different key strength, which is that the original novel and the premise in general was rich with opportunities as they kept things relatively ambiguous in the first one and left room for finer details to be ironed out like they did here. I don't necessarily agree with making Norman's origin story as convoluted as they did, but I did fully agree with them increasing the violence in this one because it helps set this one apart from the others in the trilogy. It's unfortunate Perkins never really directed again after this, he did a good job, and Scarwid was excellent too.
Psycho 3 is a pretty smart slasher trilogy in horror gene with chilling musical score and pitch perfect dark humor and Anthony Perkins did really fine work on both directing and star in this film.
A step down even from the second film, but I will pass it because it’s part or Norman Bates’ story, and that’s surely not something you’ll want to miss
This film retreads familiar waters and doesn't know where to go. Whatever new ground the second one broke, the third remains stagnant and unable to evolve Norman Bates. It's an awkward mess at times in hopes of seeming provocative, needing to compete with the modern slasher genre. Norman was best left in the 60s, where he paved the way for shock before trying to compete with it.
as good as the first one
Norman is back at it again in this one. He is back to his old ways and slipping mentally. Psycho 3 is a great edition to the franchise. Why this movie has such a low score on this site I don't know because it's really good.
Way better than this had any right to be. I avoided Psycho II and III for years, thinking there couldn't possibly be anything worthwhile about them after Hitchcock's groundbreaking and cinematic classic. Boy, was I wrong.
They are simple slashers now but it's hard not to root for Bates and Perkins.
The sequel was a terrible idea... this was even worse.
While I didn't really care for Psycho 2 I surprisingly liked Psycho 3 much more. It isn't actually good, with a actual story, but I do enjoy seeing Norman Bates go after a no vacancy motel Grade: B-
The Audience Score makes me say... Ouch. This Film did have a lot of "Ouch" Moments, but It was very Redeemable if we're being Honest. It gave Norman a chance at becoming a hero... then broke that down. I can't blame direction on this one seeing as Anthony Perkins was the Mastermind behind the camera most of the time. I could say give it a look but, you may want to rewatch the first two films in order to figure out what in the world is going on.
