It's a really good adaptation of a children's book series!! Loved it

This movie is so good!! The performances were amazing by Selena Gomez and Joey King. It was sad too. There were many fun parts, but some parts were just boring. It was a very good comedy though. This movie is heartbreaking in one scene when the cat died. Overall, this movie was really good. 8/10

Utterly adorable, one of the best family flicks of the year, everyone will love it! Ramona Quimby (Joey King) lives in a typical middle class neighborhood on the west coast. Her family consists of Father Robert (John Corbett), Mother Dorothy (Bridget Moynahan), big Sister Beatrice, er, Beezus (Selena Gomez) and a new baby sister. Also close to the Quimbys is their mother's sibling, Aunt Bea (Ginnifer Goodwin). Unlike Beezus, who is an excellent student and very mature for a budding teenager, Ramona struggles at school, especially with her no-nonsense teacher (Sandra Oh). The instructor doesn't have much patience with Ramona's penchant to coin new words, among other issues. Life at the house, also, takes a strange turn, when in the middle of home-remodeling project, Dad loses his job. Soon, Mom is working part time at her old job and Pop becomes the lunch packer and house-husband, while sending out a large amount of resumes. Aunt Bea's life, too, receives a curveball when old flame, Hobart (Josh Duhamel) moves back to his original home next to the Quimbys. Happily recovered from the long ago heartbreak of Hobart's abandonment, Bea is startled to find him lavishing attention on her once again. What's a girl to do? Beezus has love trouble, too, when a relationship with longtime pal, Henry Huggins, may turn into a romance. Ramona continues to weather storms, such as the day an egg breaks on her head, minutes ahead of the school pictures! But, biggest problem of all is the fact that they may have to move, if Dad doesn't find a job in town. What will the future bring for the Quimbys? This is very fine family flick, with plenty of humor and energy without any objectionable material. In fact, it is a shining example of how successful a movie can be without sex or bad language. Then, too, the actors do a great job, with King leading the way. What a wholesome and realistic young actress she is! Gomez, too, is a winning and lovely young thespian while Corbett, Moynahan, Oh, Goodwin, Duhamel and all of the others are lively, all-too-human and flat-out fun. The west coast setting is lovely, as are the costumes, script and all other film amenities while the direction is secure and confident. All in all, this film is one every family should have on hand, for repeated viewings, I predict, will never grow old.

I read and enjoyed the books as a child. I watched this with my seven year-old daughter, and we both enjoyed it. It's cute, sweet, and very charming.

I read the book when I was in the sixth grade and it was good! I liked the book. I watched the movie in the ninth grade and it was trash compared to the book! I hated the movie! If you've read the book, don't waste your time watching this movie. I was so deeply disappointed with this movie. The movie is almost completely inaccurate to the book. The movie was actually a mixture of multiple storylines from multiple books in the same series which would be Ramona and Beezus, Ramona Saves the Day, and probably a bit of Ramona and her Father. The casting was horrible. None of the actors fit their characters except John Corbett as Ramona and Beezus' dad, Bridget Moynahan as Ramona and Beezus' mom, Ginnifer Goodwin as Aunt Beatrice, and Sandra Oh as Mrs. Meacham. Selena Gomez was horribly cast as Beezus. Joey King was miscast as Ramona. The guy who played Henry Huggins was severely miscast. Josh Duhamel was miscast as Hobart Kemp. Out of all the casting choices, Selena Gomez was easily the worst. Selena Gomez has never been a good actress and she continues to prove that she is not cut out for acting in this film. She is only half the same ethnicity as Beezus, Gomez is half Caucasian and Latina, but Beezus is pure Caucasian. A lot of things that happened in the movie never happened in the book. The characters weren't even accurate to their age from the book. Ramona was supposed to be 4 years old, but in this movie she is 8 or 9 years old. Beezus was supposed to be in the fifth or sixth grade, she was supposed to be 11 or 12 years old. Henry was supposed to be that same age too. Speaking of Henry Huggins, why did the writers make him Beezus' crush in this movie? They were only friends in the books! Beezus never had a crush on Henry! Hobart wasn't a rich person like he was in the book. All the character depictions are wrong. This movie had so much potential but was unfortunately wasted. The only true strength this movie had was its potential to be a good adaptation of the book. This movie has far too many inaccuracies. I really hope this movie gets a reboot in at least a decade or two with a proper cast that fit their characters and with writers that respect the source material and with a better director. Rating: 4.9/10

As a die hard Ramona and Beezus fan, this movie was extremely disappointing. Having read the books each probably more than a hundred times, I came with high hopes. Beezus is much too pretty and she had no romantic interest in the book to the person whom she supposedly likes in the movie. There are so many infuriating inaccuracies and I think it's awful that they clumped all the books into one, halfhearted attempt at a ripoff. The casting is also really horrible, the only character I'd keep is King. I pray that someone does a better version.

This movies got me through some real tough times. Were taking all day everyday for weeks. From waking up to going to sleep i would watch this.

Ramona and Beezus isn't neither funny or inovative to create something more than the other movies of its genre already did, to not talk about the predictable narrative and the worst fake laugh ever in a movie.

Really sweet, plenty of heart.

I grew up reading these books to my little sister and I must say the film captures the spirit of the books quite well. Light, charming, and entertaining with a likeable cast- a simple but highly effective family movie.

A cute film but lacks on some subjects.

Ramona and Beezus might not be the best in it's type, but for a movie to sit back and watch, it will be okay for adults, but kids will love it.

This was a cute and nice movie to watch with the kids. We have read the books and this was an acceptable adaptation. Well worth watching.
