Prima ballerina Dominika Egorova faces a bleak and uncertain future after she suffers an injury that ends her career. This film is intricate and well thought out and Jennifer Lawrence shines as the star. Don't let it's long run time fool you as this is an absolute must watch when it comes to espionage thrillers. It's gory-ness and brutality is so very close to crossing the line of overdone but I would commemorate Justin Haythe strongly for his not-over-usage of sex and violence to keep the film interesting. I enjoyed this film thoroughly from beginning to end and my investment in the story and characters never once wavered. An extraordinary film that I believe deserves far more praise than it was given.

Pulpy and melodramatic, Red Sparrow is an overlong spy thriller starring the endlessly watchable Jennifer Lawrence. Although the plot is full of holes, it remains entertaining throughout its sprawling runtime. An interesting meditation on human sexuality in parts, there are some standout moments in this casserole. It’s definitely no Jason Bourne or Jack Reacher film, but it’ll do for a once through.

A lot of uncomfortable scenes, a somewhat confusing plot, not so interesting story or characters overall, they kept acting like she was a prodigy, yet she didn't do anything particularly special, a forced narrative of her being amazing without backing it up.
