Prima ballerina Dominika Egorova faces a bleak and uncertain future after she suffers an injury that ends her career. A lot of uncomfortable scenes, a somewhat confusing plot, not so interesting story or characters overall, they kept acting like she was a prodigy, yet she didn't do anything particularly special, a forced narrative of her being amazing without backing it up.

"Red Sparrow" is one of those movies I was genuinely curious about back in 2018. I never got around to seeing it and decided to check it out, as it is directed by the winning team of director Francis Lawrence and with Jennifer Lawrence in the lead. It was interesting to see this "Hunger Games" duo make a film that could fully go for the R-rating. I think when it first started out the movie was interesting. I think as it went along I started to like it less and less. The movie eventually becomes tedious and boring and I just didn't like it by the time it ended. I think Jennifer Lawrence does a decent job in the lead role, but I never really got behind her character. Overall, this is a boring and convoluted espionage movie that tries to be edgy with explicit and violent content, but ultimately is a bit of a snooze fest and a letdown.

I don't know why this is rated so low... because it has a multidimensional story line that most people can't understand or keep up with?... "convoluted" rotten tomatoes says... I say boarderlining on genius. I hope I'm right in thinking the ending left it open for a number 2.

I enjoyed it a lot. Apparantly some people find the story convoluted, but I think they are just not used anymore to spy stories with a smart plot. Gotten too much used to a lot of running and shooting and jumping off roofs. I certainly was not surprised by the ending. Made sense to me.
