I'm Reed Fish Reviews
I really enjoyed watching this movie. Reed Fish (Jay Baruchel) plays a relatable character that I can find similarities to. There was a surprising twist when the audience finds out in the middle of the movie they were actually filiming a movie based on Reed Fish's life. I wish I would have seen this movie sooner.
Normally I love Alexis Bledel but this movie was way too slow moving for me. Even after 45 minutes nothing really happened and in that 45 minutes I didn't laugh at all. I didn't want to bother sitting through the rest.
Tries to be clever with a gimmick, minor spoilor: movie within a movie. It barely sticks out from other typical love triangle quirky romance movies. A significant lack of story telling near the end leaves many questions to the audience mind to fill the gaps of an already cookie cutter story with minimal substance. However, I can believe a story like this could happen in real life and the acting was fairly solid.
Simply terrible. Such a waste of good actors' talent. Needed a better script and fuller plot. And Jill. ugh.
Surprisingly a good movie. Not my usual, shot-em-up action pick. It has a great story and great acting--a very unique film.
that tiny knot made me to where Iam today, I guess you just need to be yourself and know who you are, who am I? Iam reed fish.
Watched it because Reggie Watts spoke highly of it in an interview. It wasn't very good. The movie within a movie was pretty pointless.
I thought this was a pretty good and funny movie. I think the cast was pretty good. The story was unique and fun. Good all around movie.
Best Part: Katey Sagal, Alexis Bledel, Blake Clark, and small town humor Worst Part: Everything Else
An alright film good to watch if you don't want to think much and just want to sit back and enjoy a love story of sorts. I wasn't overly keen on the movie within a movie idea, I didn't think it added anything to the film and thought it would have been stronger without it. Confusing ending mostly due to the film within a film concept I was left wondering how the two main characters ended up back together; I'm all for the audience filling in the gaps but this was a pretty big gap. Overall I enjoyed this movie, the acting was pretty good not stand out really, there was a nice amount of comedy thrown in throughout the movie and it dealt with good issues on life in a small country town. Relatively feel good romantic drama with bit of comedy worth checking out if you like that genre.
The plot twist didn't spin this tale into anything noteworthy, unfortunately. Also Alexis Bledel's worst film, even taking into account "Post Grad."
After quite an exciting start this movie quickly begins going downhill, it starts to repeat itself and gets really monotonous and static. "I'm Reed Fish" is one of those movie that had potential but wasted it quite ingenuously: 30 minutes after the movie starts, when we actually discover that we're watching a movie into the movie, that was quite a revelation. So I expected the story to focus more on the 'real life' but it didn't. It was all about the premiere and not about its characters and their hearts and stories. Characters all seemed nice, but none of them was well explored. We get to know something about them, but the feelings flow isn't clear at all and honestly most of their actions just doesn't make any sense to me. They turned out being pretty lame and kind of pointless. But -- this is still an enjoyable movie. Locations are great, and even if the story ends up being kind of repetitive it was relaxing and not terrible to watch. So you might want to give it a try.
