Ride Along 2 Reviews

A simple movie that relies on the A.B.C.'s of buddy cop movies: A.) Action. B.) Broad comedy. C.) Cleavage.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Feb 3, 2021

It's simply a shame to see a talented guy like Kevin Hart saddled with material that doesn't begin to live up to his immense comic range.

| Original Score: 2.0/4.0 | Sep 21, 2020

A listless retread with a few new wrinkles.

| Original Score: C- | Jul 3, 2020

Bland, lazy, and unable to elevate itself to the low standards of its predecessor, Ride Along 2 is a ride not work taking.

| Apr 7, 2020

All in all, more than simply being bad, Ride Along 2 is disappointing.

| Feb 6, 2020

We admit it's a wild ride, but this one holds the road much better.

"Ride Along 2" is one those sequels that didn't need to be made, but now that its existence can't be argued, should have and could have been better than it is.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Apr 5, 2019

[Ride Along 2] is a film that misses far more often than it hits, filled with generic action sequences and tired one-liners.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Feb 20, 2019

There is nothing inherently bad about this sequel, but there is nothing that hasn't been seen in pretty much any other film in the genre.

| Original Score: C | Jan 17, 2019

Comedy sequels frequently deliver on being terrible, but Ride Along 2 is a case of extreme laziness. It's nothing more than an attempt at once again making gangbusters during the doldrums of January

| Original Score: 1/5 | Dec 4, 2017

The heat is off.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Nov 5, 2017

The plot is generic and hardly matters.

If you've seen the global trailer for "Ride Along 2," you've seen the entire movie.

| Original Score: D+ | Aug 15, 2017

Ride Along 2 may be the first mainstream comedy in years to feature a cast this diverse and for that it deserves some sort of accolade. But that's it. Otherwise its the same eye-rolling numbskullery as the first.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Jan 2, 2017

The shame of it is that the two leads have good chemistry together -- along with some decent support from Ken Jeong and Olivia Munn -- but they're stuck in a paint-by-numbers cop story that spends more time on its twists than being funny.

| Original Score: 2/4 | Dec 31, 2016

This second helping does little more than add a bit of Miami glitz to a formula that wasn't especially inspired to begin with.

| Dec 12, 2016

Ride Along 2 follows in the indifferent footsteps of its predecessor.

| Original Score: 76/100 | Nov 15, 2016

You chuckle, maybe laugh for a hot second. But you want more.

| Nov 8, 2016

Ride Along 2 stretches the premise of the original paper-thin ... The unlikely glee of the original is thoroughly gone this time around.

| Original Score: 1/5 | Aug 2, 2016

There are only so many bad things you can say about a film that left you genuinely bored and watching the clock, but there really isn't a redeeming feature and all I can say is, you'd be better off giving this one a miss.
