Saturday Night Reviews
Brought me back to a time!
Best Film of the Year, loved it.
Idk why they made this into a movie
Very entertaining and way better than I thought it would be!
Captivating story. Entertaining from start to finish
Solid and well acted performances outweigh the overwritten script and frenetic direction. Then again, it must have been truly chaotic just before “Saturday Night Live” debuted!
such an interesting movie i loved it
The cutting, the anxiety, the dialogue. Down to the way this movie was promoted matches the feeling you’re supposed to have about it, and how so many people felt about SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE coming up to its release.
Good job with casting actors to match the actual people l
The movie was better than the Patrick Ewing documentary from 1992.
Was fun, especially if you like SNL. Actors nailed their roles.
I loved this movie. As a lifelong fan of SNL, I thought this was interesting, intense, and very funny. Almost all of the portrayals of the original cast members were spot on and the actor playing Lorne was perfectly suited for the role. I enjoyed more than I thought I would. Such fun.
As a fan of Saturday Night Live and also a performing artist, this is a great look at the show that happens behind almost ALL shows. It accurately depicts all of the craziness involved in making a show happen that an audience usually isn't privy to. All of the thoughts, decisions, feelings, egos, plans, disruptions, changes, etcetera, were pretty spot on, even down to the "this-may-not-happen" moments. To know that the show becw iconic made the story that much more fascinating. I wish there would have been a bit more backstory on how they got to the point in the SNL story that was portrayed, but I did enjoy it.
I felt like I took a time machine and was on the set. perfectly paced, insane writing and costumes. Acting and music were superb. it's the Air of NYC.
This is one of the best movies Ive seen this year, and I was never an SNL fan — The last full episode I watched had Vanilla Ice as the musical act! Fans of SNL and the legendary talents who launched their careers there will love this movie. But beyond the history, trivia, and Easter eggs, the films true beauty lies in its portrayal of human connection, the audacity of adults who dare to simply play, and the unshakable faith needed to bring a vision to life, even when it seems impossible.
Thoroughly entertaining and what a stellar cast!
Very entertaining. A good depiction of the general vibes and landscape of late night television, entertainment and comedy in the early 1970s. Perhaps a little apocryphal at times between the mixture of legendary stories and the personalities of Those portrayed. Still, a very fun watch. Not a documentary. Highly recommend as a prequel to watching this movie the documentary Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of the National Lampoon. Theres a great tie in to half of the early SNL Cast, who was plucked away from The Lampoon Radio Hour show.
Like Saturday Night very much due to the very real like frenzy in launching this first one of a kind show!
Was not what we expected. Very jumping around not much story.
i really enjoyed this
