Savages Reviews
This could've easily been a 90 minute movie. It still was better than I expected it to be. Blake lively was lovely as always and Travolta was good. Just enough violence to keep the story interesting. Salma Hayek was a delight.
Salma Hayek does a great turn in this movie and looks great. John Travolta plays an interesting character part. Benecio del Toro portrays such a twisted violent character. Honestly, I don't know how he can wind down after a day on the set playing that role. In general the film is way too graphically violent for my taste. Some of the premise of the story is pretty thin. 3 big stars named above captivated my interest enough to see it all the way through.
I see this once a year .. love the cars, characters and fun .. salma and blake rocked it
The greatest 02 hours: and 10 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like a music video that tries somehow to be "Tarantinoesque" but is mainly flat and mainstream in the end, stretched to 130 minutes. One of the worst I ever saw on big screen.
Creative and good movie. It's very entertaining. It has to be to fill up 130 minutes. Very good acting with a good plot. Lots of action.
80/100 - Good movie, the cast is stacked, worth watching
Creative and good story. Good acting and good action.
Occasionally goofy and corny with a silly “let’s rewind it and give a happier ending” moment. Still, due to everyone involved this is a pretty decent crime movie.
Niewtórna historia, nieźle poprowadzona. Niestety zabrakło tu tego czegoś - kompletnie nic nie wniósł w moje życie i szybko o nim zapomnę
So many good actors tortured by bad writing. Some of my favorite worst parts: The "good" bad guys wear masks in a cartel daughter's hostage video, when everyone (viewers and actors included) know who the kidnappers are. Hell, they called the cartel over video chat. Then, they dramatically take their masks off before the end of the hostage video. What the hell was the point of the masks? Any scene John Travolta was in. Anyone could have played his part better. Scooby-Doo double ending. So many more...
Not great but also not bad. Blake Lively's character annoyed me. She had a very flat role. The idea of this thruple being in a polyamorous relationship is different and I applaud the writer for that. Sex was gratuitous at the beginning and felt unnecessary, however some said the same thing about the violence. Salma Hayek slapping those she was pissed at felt kind of amateur compared to the shootings and beheadings that her henchmen were doing. Maybe she could have thrown in a pistol whip? 3.5/5 stars
For a movie that has so much violence and is so flashy, "Savages" is pretty boring. I just could not get into this movie. There really isn't a lot of action and the characters aren't interesting. If they were fun to watch, it is excusable that no one is likable. The end result is pretty messy and a waste of a few more than capable actors and actresses. Oliver Stone is known for making dark and gritty movies but the story here is not engaging in any way. I liked the visual style of the movie, but I felt painfully bored by a lot of it. I think it would have worked a lot better if it committed to being just a mindless crime thriller.
Blake Lively's acting was just awful just a weak actor i actually felt sorry and embarrassed for her. I could not relate to the actors poor performances all around. Story was pretty good just the acting ruined it.
Not a memorable film but entertaining if u r looking for violent thriller.
A Tarantino wannabe. I don't appreciate the graphic violence, but there are some decent performances.
What a waste of a great cast, the movie looses itself in a badly deviced story, very obvious ending... Not enough grit or suspense or anything... Each character is stereotypical and exaggerated...avoid it
I'm not a professional, the movie .... I ate popcorn, called my sister, checked the final sale on line ... the movie is ... discriminational ... unfortunately show how women are: with money they love you, without ....hahhahahahha
With all of these talented actors, I was expecting a decent flick. Instead, a total POS. 122 minutes of my life simply wasted. 🤮
