Serena Reviews
This is a spectacular movie. The reviewers and critics who felt there was no “chemistry” between Brad and Jennifer missed the fact that these two great actors portrayed two people who were exceptional in their mutual ambition rather than true and abiding love. The plot was deep and brilliant. A 5 star movie!
I usually love both Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. This movie however, was disappointing. There was zero chemistry between these two actors, and the movie just didn't capture the intensity of the content. Neither JL or BC were convincing in their roles imo.
Disappointing film, but always like Bradley.
Jennifer Lawrence is the best all the best. Not hesitate and never disappoint us. Very good movie
I am very happy that the movie shows us the steps and choices that are necessary in the life of a great person. I like the movie.
Jennifer Lawrence never failed as a actress. She’s damn good
Can't understand the low scores. I thought it was a pretty good movie, the plot. More of low grade B though compared to Siver Linings Playbook.
This movie is reminiscent of Macbeth with a passionate husband and wife team doing whatever it takes to get what they want. Watching these two actors be in love is captivating, which makes their destruction even more painful. Excellent film.
Great chemistry between Lawrence and Cooper.. and of course their acting is superior..but the supporting cast is awesome .. just slow but very interesting story ..I liked this film
An accurate depiction of the logging industry for the time and the area of NC USA. These two Cooper and Lawrence seem to just fit together in acting roles. They have the same chemistry as Tracey and Hepburn yet we never see them in a true comedy. This movie is dark, and depicts a cruel albeit life of the logging industry many accidents and challenges along with greed and jealousy. Happy ending in any film produced in the last 10 years seems to be a missing, this atones for the ratings this film received.
Great Movie about a strong women
You'd think a movie starring two a-list actors supported by a robust cast of character actors would have at least a few bright spots, right? Not so with Serena. Aggressively dull with a sudden, pointlessly violent climax and a morose ending.
Atrocious. I went to the bathroom half way through and had a more enjoyable experience than watching this movie. Production value, music, and costumes were all great, however the plot was a disaster and the writing was worse than the Star Wars prequels. I tried to piece together this movie in between the seemingly random sex scenes between Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper but it's not possible. Not even my girlfriend who can't be wrong about anything was able to finish this movie after she herself picked it. Oof... yes that was rotten.
I see a lot of others gave less than favorable reviews, but I really enjoyed the movie. Serena for real came off a little off from the beginning, then she started to show her controlling side. Towards the end she evolved into a full fledged jealous psychotic unstable woman. Killing or attempting to kill with no remorse. She definitely had a sad history, but it doesn't justify the craziness that she became. It was a chilling movie. I did think the acting was good to be honest
I like Bradley Cooper, but I'm not the Jennifer Lawrence fan that many of my fellow film lovers seem to be. THE HUNGER GAMES went from okay to awful through the course of what felt like endless episodes, and all I can say to the critics who went gaga over MOTHER is...huh? But SERENA? A new low. It meanders along, hinting at this, alluding to that, never quite committing to anything but a muddled plotline and embarrassingly odd performances throughout.
