sign of a good movie: if it had more money, it would be better. 鈥淪hadow of God鈥� has a solid, well thought out story that could have benefitted from having a bigger budget. It was a brilliant move to mix the quotidian nightmare of Waco with cosmic horror.

Mixing arthouse with psychedelia and just straight up gore, Shadow of God will keep anyone watching off kilter. This is also part of the problem. The film has too much going on. Some of it feels out of place, but it all makes for a fascinating watch.

Shudder Exclusives and Originals need their own exorcism at this point. This is a bland, trauma bloated exorcism story with no discernable character or direction. At the very least, this does not waste its time moving through its scenes.

Im a fan of exorcism, possession and most religious/cult horror. This is great for me. One of the more entertaining horror movies I鈥檝e seen this year. The premise is an amazing take on the classic genre that gets a little lost in the final act but, I enjoyed the hell out of it. I think it鈥檚 a great take on what the consequence of abandoning God as a society mean. Again, I鈥檓 biased. I like the subgenre a lot.

Final act brought this down from 3 stars. Actor's were great. Story was all over the place. Just keep it simple and give us more lore and mystery. Final 5 seconds brought this to 0 if possible.
