'Shaolin Soccer' is amusing! As someone who loves both film and football (soccer), it was about time I checked this one out. Of course, it holds little resemblance to actual footy but it still mixes the sport and the martial art impressively. It's funny, especially across the first half. I would say that the film overstays its welcome slightly, it does feel drawn out by the time that final match concludes. That isn't all that damaging mind you, because I'd consider this a fun time. Stephen Chow is entertaining, as are the rest of the cast to be fair; mostly so, Wong Yat-fei.

Shaolin soccer is the ultimate soccer fantasy, especially if you like gymnastics and martial arts and just feeling good. The story and the romance are subpar for sure, but we didn’t come here for that.

filme mais ou menos, o roteiro é fraco, algumas cenas das parodias são boas mas o resto do filme é ruim e sem sentindo como a parte que ele chuta a geladeira e coloca no lugar certo, as cenas do treino de futebol e o torneio foram boas e salvaram o filme, as cenas de dialogos são ruins, mas esse filme eu só recomendo, por causa do futebol é a parte boa do filme, se não, o filme seria ruim.

I watched it in 2024 therefore it looks old, not bad but I expected much more

I enjoyed the spirit of sports and the real life determination to complete a task and goal in life. This movie pushed me to be a better person and to train for my upcoming martial arts fight which I was going to wing since the guy I'm fighting is bigger than me and will probably beat me up. I trained really hard and had this movie on repeat throughout my trainings and it pushed me to go harder. The day of the fight I was ready, my walkout song was from the soundtrack, I was a GOD. I lost the fight. 4 stars.

Nice comedy where Zhao Wei showed her talentive and catching performance

Silly, goofy and slapstick throughout, the combination of martial arts and soccer makes for an entertaining premise and some very funny scenes. The overly melodramatic style mixed with offbeat humour gives it a comical tone and it's full of energy to boot. The over the top, bombastic CGI and some of the humour may be quite dated now, but it's still very funny and fun to watch the weird band of misfits defeat "team evil". Even the romance subplot manages to work, being sweet and sincere as well as making you laugh. The ending was good if a bit abrupt and its short run time means you're never bored and it doesn't outstay its welcome.

This movie was an absolute BLAST. When I say this is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen I am not lying. Throughout the entire 1.5 hour run time there was not a minute where I went without laughing.

This movie is so crazy. The movie is 2 hours long but it feels so fast! The plot is really basic but the action and comedy are so smart. I'd recommend it to everyone!
