Shrek 2 Reviews
baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
I don’t remember much about this movie, except that I liked it.
Better than the first
You know they had to double it homie
A funny and entertaining movie.
This is a master piece.
La mejor película de la saga de Shrek y mi película favorita
A great sequel. Has its flaws, but damn. The story, the world expanding, the climax. Definitely check it out.
I actually find this a step up from the first film. Better story line in my opinion compared to the first. So many laugh out loud moments and we get the introduction of Puss in Boots.
Still a good movie, even if it doesn't live up to the first. I found a lot of things less interesting in this one.
Shrek 2 is everything one can ask for in a film. The film contains the perfect blend of action, comedy, fantasy and romance that will attract audiences from various genres. Released in 2004, Shrek 2 is a sequel to the first fantasy comedy that was released 3 years prior. It is exactly the kind of sequel one would hope for that amplified the features of the original film that led it to be one of the most prominent animated films of the 2000’s decade reaching almost a billion dollars in the box office! From their extremely creative script writing to their unique computer animation technology, Dreamwork's' Shrek 2 created a lasting impact and a new standard in the animated film industry. One of the film's many shining features would be the sound design and music. The voice actors for the characters were perfectly casted as each character has a unique and prominent voice that brings further engagement into the story. From Shrek’s exotic accent to Donkey’s obnoxious singing and blabbering, the aspects of each character are very well thought-out and make them notable and memorable features of the film. As for the music, the Shrek films are known for their amazing soundtrack. Shrek 2 specifically has an incredibly iconic part where a cross-cutting sequence between two scenes occurs. The Fairy Godmother is giving an incredible adaptive performance of “I Need a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler at the ball which cuts back and forth to “handsome” Shrek and his sidekicks breaking into the castle to stop the kiss. The choice of music works extremely well in this case as the lyrics play into the fact Fiona needs her hero, Shrek! The music greatly contributes to building suspense during the climax of the film and you will likely find yourself sitting on the edge of your seat, even as someone who has watched it countless of times. The overall cinematography in the film is very creative and the editing transforms various scenes. An example of this in action would be where Shrek and Fiona have an argument about going to Far Far Away to meet her parents and Shrek stubbornly says “we are not going” which immediately cuts to luggage being thrown into the back of the carriage, hilariously signifying that they will in fact be going. The mise-en-scene is also brilliantly used to create depth to the story. A perfect example of this would be when Shrek and Fiona are having dinner with Fiona’s parents and there is a very obvious stuffed eagle over the fireplace above Shrek that appears to be diving at him. This speaks to the fact that Shrek is not welcomed by the King and fore-shadows the fact that he needs to watch his back. Shrek 2 being the extremely successful and influential film it was, I would rate this film a 5/5 and highly recommend you watch it for the first time or even the 10th time! The film has never failed to make me laugh or bring me to notice a new detail or joke I hadn’t caught as a kid in the early 2000s. Comedy films are nothing new to the film industry, but considering famous comedy films such as Charlie Chaplin’s “The Immigrant”, it is apparent that the humour in many of these classic comedies seem to have lost their potency with the years. I believe what sets Shrek 2 apart from other comedy classics would be that its elite and versatile humour and storytelling continues to stay relevant and I believe will for many years to come.
Ofc its Great
I'm like a customer at a restaurant asking for more cheese on my pasta because just WOW IS THIS MOVIE AMAZING IN EVERYTHING. I HAVE WATCHED THIS MOVIE LIKE 20 TIMES AND I LAUGH AT THE SAME JOKES BECAUSE THEY ARE SO FUNNNNYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone; Donkey, Puss, Charming, and who could forget SHREK, all had at least one, no, 3 best moments in the movie!! This movie cured my depression of living alone in my mothers basement. My wife and kids left me just while I was in the deepest darkest part of life. But then, a trailer for SHREK 2 showed up on my apple Mac computer and it changed my LIFE!1!!!!1 when I saw SHREK 2 I was in JAW DROPPING MODE the entire time!!!!!!!!11! In fact I went to see it 2319487938 times!!!!!!!!! AND On my 2319487939th time, SHREK HIMSELF came out of the SILVER SCREEN FROM THE THEATER AND TALKED TO ME!!!!! THE SHREK TALKED TO A DEPRESSED GUY LIKE ME!!!!!!! He told me that life was something we couldn't change and things were the way they were no matter how hard I tried to get rid of them. But then he said the things we can change are the actions we do. We can do better and life and stuff. Real wise words, y'know? OBRA PRIMA incontestável e um dos pilares do cinema!!!
Shrek 2 expands the universe built in the first film! I have to say that the film as a whole surpasses its predecessor (which was already very good), being, in my eyes, perfect!
