Leslie Felperin Guardian Esterhazy and co have a few clever-ish tricks up their sleeves that invert viewer expectations. Rated: 3/5 Dec 8, 2021 Full Review Alexandra Heller-Nicholas AWFJ.org Slumber Party Massacre revels in its status as a teen horror film but admirably refuses to let that be a reason to dumb down either its gender politics or tame its more visceral, gut-churning moments. Dec 8, 2021 Full Review Paul Lê Tales from the Paulside All in all, this is not a by-the-numbers remake. It takes a remarkable and astute movie from nearly four decades ago and refits its story for all generations of slasher fans. Rated: 3/5 Jul 23, 2023 Full Review Jenn Adams Rue Morgue Magazine Written by Suzanne Keilly and directed by Danishka Esterhazy, the remake manages to outdo its predecessor with a hilarious, heartfelt, and terrifying modernization of the ways women now view each other. Rated: A+ Sep 10, 2022 Full Review Heather Wixson Daily Dead Keilly's script is sublimely subversive without being too heavy-handed with the story's messaging, and Esterhazy has done a fantastic job of bringing this genre classic into our current times. Rated: 4/5 Dec 20, 2021 Full Review EJ Moreno Flickering Myth Taking a page from Halloween 2018, this remake of the '80s slasher satire dives into the trauma that comes with horror. While comedy isn't great, the gory more than makes up for it. Dec 11, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Js S Who are these idiot so called critics?? Every single film people like these critics hate. They clearly are paid to promote certain movies and or get paid by advertisers to be kind .. This re make is a pathetic modern day attempt, bad cheap actors, tickboxing and lazy attempt. And im sorry but casting a certain skin color in a horror film when you can't see them in certain lights( usually dark in horror films right? ) is too pathetic Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/19/25 Full Review Craig B This reimagining of the 1982 film is not half-bad. Slated as a 'comedy-horror' on some review sites, it certainly is not a comedy. Some very creative deaths as you could imagine with the primary tool of murder being a very big drill. The young cast is fairly likeable, especially the girls who are obviously in the thick of the mayhem. Good film for a quick and silly watch with some ridiculous deaths. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/25 Full Review Emilliano Jr S Corny, funny, surprisingly good. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/25 Full Review Darrell S Random serial killer with a drill, half naked women with no clue, and a bloodbath. Sounds like the typical 80's horror film but it all works nicely in this one. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/22/24 Full Review Audience Member It's decent until the 3rd act when the acting suddenly becomes pretty bad & the final 20 minutes feels like an hour. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/10/24 Full Review Audience Member A fun camp camp slasher! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
