Smiley Face Reviews
This is a hidden gem of a stoner film. Anna is a true leading lady and I had a lot of fun with this movie. Tim Treakle
Hilarious stoner comedy. Adding to my list of favorites. I haven’t lmao this hard in a while. Anna Faris in this might be the best stoner imitation I’ve ever seen. I had zero expectations and this was shockingly amazing.
I watched this movie twice in a row, then once a day for three days in a row. I gut wrenchingly laughed throughout each viewing. I can't believe. I thought for sure the novelty would wear off after first watch. This movie captures the essence of what being stoned feels like for many. It's absolutely hilarious.
Smiley Face is such a neat little indie gem. It's not the Godfather, but it's a fun trip that has a lot of good laughs. It feels like the entire movie is just stoned. Like the film reel anthropomorphized and sparked up a joint. The movie is so perfectly scatter-brained. It's great, man.
Seriously underrated movie. I probably wouldn't have got it if I hadn't also accidentally eaten too much edibles one time before I saw it. I'm sure the writers also ate too much also. If you haven't smoked pot you may think that's what being high is like. It's not. If you smoked pot but never ate too much edibles you may think this move is exaggerating, it's not. They did a great job showing what it feels like and the challenge of doing everyday tasks. Super funny when you realize what's she's experiencing is pretty spot on.
This movie is so bad and super annoying I'm a stoner and this movie just irritated me so bad I couldn't even finish watching it. I love Anna Faris but this movie was really disappointing. Idk what the makers were thinking with this one. So disappointed 😞..
I loved it as well as the group of people I was with!! I still watch it often😂But you have to be high on flower to understand/make sense otherwise you will hate it sober!
Funny, lighthearted stoner film with some (sadly) relateable moments
Most accurate portrayal of a woman stoned off her ass, that's got important shit to do. A reminder to us all to be careful what sweets you eat.
Genuinely funny ! This movie has been made for people high to watch. This is perfect, it's a master piece !
if you need to smoke weed, you need to watch this movie. Preferably after you smoke some tasty nugs. This is a true stoner classic, and so funny. And when is Anna Farris not an absolute treasure? No one need answer that, ever, and i need say no more.
Awful watch, won't watch again, and can't recommend. This was an awful, actively irritating watch, and I like Anna Faris, there was nothing she could have done to save this script. I honestly think she elevated it to the level of crap it is. I don't even think stoners will like this movie. Not only does involve a misuse (accident, whatever), making her just look like she's stupid, but the movie is one long anti-drug message. People don't enjoy a message shoved in their face, and I'm even anti-drug. The writing is so poor, and it feels like they would have known what they were doing if someone wasn't jabbing them with a pitchfork as they use "Chekov's gun" they just do it in the most useless way possible. None of the events lend towards any of the following events because she just ends up doing random things because, "ha ha, she's high". Even the ending is a shoehorned "drugs are bad" cliche, and is severely unsatisfying. I couldn't even enjoy the abuse humor of how debilitated she was, even though I legitimately hated the character), and the sliding scale of ridiculous makes it look like it it was written by SNL interns. Go watch any "Scary Movie", "Harold and Kumar", "How High", "Dazed and Confused", or any other pot movie before wasting your time on this, but never "Requiem for a Dream" or "Trainspotting", heroin is bad.
What a waste of Anna Faris. She's funny if given good lines and direction. This movie had neither. Maybe I'd like the movie if i was hanging out with a bunch of my junior high friends. Nothing here to see, people. Move along
Definitely not the best movie ever made . But a nice stoner movie gives me the nostalgia of my high school days or the late 90s when stoner movies were a dime a dozen. They musta outplayed the genre because you don’t see much of this anymore . This is also Anna Faris in her absolute prime when people said she married a nobody in Chris Pratt . I’ll just say 2.2/5 . Nostalgia aside it could prob be a little less but I liked it so that’s what it gets. Looking back now ..... they may have been onto something say Danny Masterson gave them the creep vibes
How far is Faris able to take the otherwise simple schtick? Far enough to be far out, so long as you take a hit before hitting play.
