It's hard to say anything original about "Starfish Hotel" as nearly everyone has the same opinion. It's well acted, well shot, the use of color and eroticism are extremely well done and the sets are beautiful. However the journey is far better, and more engaging, than the cathartic, drawn-out finale, stretching out a whole half hour after the final revelation. Oh, and Mr. Trickster looks exactly like Frank from Donnie Darko.

Nicely constructed noir thriller that explores the thin line between reality and fiction with a nice combo of Western fairytale clashing with Eastern reserve.

i enjoyed this japanese film. except there was a lot more suspence and creepy shit than i expected. otherwise the mystery is well made: two worlds, a man in a rabbit costume, and murder. the ending left me a bit confused, but only because this film requires a second, possibly third, viewing.

An awful waste of time. Loaded with cliches.
