This was one of the worst movies I’ve ever watched. It felt nothing like Steven Universe in any sense. Honestly, it reminded me more of Hazbin Hotel. The art, although not terrible, wasn't the usual Steven Universe style, and it felt plastic. It didn’t look like it was worked hard on—it almost felt AI-generated. The corniness and cringiness were so thick it gave me the ick. The only redeeming quality was Spinel’s portrayal of PTSD. I genuinely liked her story, and she was the only part of the movie I genuinely enjoyed. The songs, while Steven Universe typically has great ones, had maybe three bangers in the movie (which honestly I do listen to repeat). The rest were rushed and lack rhythm. The plot didn’t make sense at times, and I had to stop and rethink if the movie was even worth it. If you like it, that’s fine, but if you’re expecting Steven Universe, you won’t get that here...
