Audience Member mainstream cheezy story, corny lines and most of all, the language barrier/chemistry between Erich Gonzales and Mario Maurer. Rated 2/5 Stars •  Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Though this is full of cheesy lines and scenes to make it an overly romantic movie, it has one of the most beautiful settings as a romance flick - shot both in Ilocos Norte and Thailand which made it one of the best Filipino travel movies I've seen. It captured and promoted the best of tourism of each places equally. As for the leads, Erich Gonzales and Mario Maurer gave their best act and has romantic chemistry on-screen. But I also commend the supporting casts of both Filipino and Thai actors/actresses as each were likable and fun to watch. The romance story is already seen in traditional and formulaic Filipino romance flicks but this so well-written and has nice characterization that you will forgive the traditional romance plot. And even there are montage of traditional romance scenes, you'll easily let it pass because Suddenly It's Magic is still an entertaining and a feel-good movie. I also love its very recalling theme song Suddenly It's Magic song covered by Angeline Quinto and Erik Santos. Mario Maurer's effect on women is so magical that it becomes destructive to the point that his on-screen partner, Erich Gonzales, suffers the wrath of women wooing too much in him.
