In the midst of marital problems, Erik (Thommy Berggren) and Karin Bergman (Lena Endre) take their children to a cottage in the country for the summer. The trip proves educational for their young son, Pu (Henrik Linnros). In addition to enduring several misadventures with his older brother, Dag (Jakob Leygraf), Pu learns lessons about love, faith and death. And despite his strained, sometimes even violent relationship with his father, Pu eventually finds some common ground with the man.
