Russ G If you exhibit this film to today's younger audience, please gloss over the fact that Peter Lorre is portraying a Japanese character and just have them follow the story. The production values are good for a Thirties B-movie with an outstanding cast of studio contract players in supporting roles. Miss Jayne Regan is a treat as the eye candy. It's really too bad that this franchise didn't have as many episodes as the Charlie Chan or Sherlock Holmes series did. I'm giving this Four Stars on my usual sliding scale - it gets an extra one for a being an entertaining and fast-paced film on a B-movie budget.
