The Assessment Reviews
I honestly don't understand ...
This movie has good actors and a great interesting setting but failed to deliver a good sci-fi thriller. It was laughable and you weren’t anticipating anything exciting to come. Watch “Companion” for a better sci-fi Thriller.
Trying too hard to be artistic. The concept sounds good, but fails miserably with horrible writing.
Would you pass? The Assessment is a 2024 science fiction thriller film 👁️ Can’t recommend it. Oof, this isn’t good 🙁Probably give it a miss 👎🏼 In a climate change-ravaged world, a utopian society optimizes life, including parenthood assessments. A successful couple faces scrutiny by an evaluator over seven days to determine their fitness for childbearing.
What are you willing to sacrifice for health, safety, and vitality? How far are you willing to go to fulfill the biological need to have a child? These are the questions this dystopian drama asks as it sends you through a well acted unpredictable nightmare. Elizabeth Olsen puts on a beautiful performance & reminds us how good of an actress she really is.
Never watched a movie that stuck with me how „The Assessment“ stuck with me. My blood-pressure was at an all time high during the movie. Made me felt like a parent that has a little baby at home that cries every single minute.
This was so good, so weird and so intense, stunning performances from both Olsen and Vikander. Such an interesting, and potentially realistic concept, stylish and really draws you in. Fantastic movie.
Just go watch something else this movie is boring as hell, the cast is disintrested in putting effort in.
Hmm. A hard sell being a weird movie.
Providing commentary on the regulations of parenthood, this has gotta be the most underrated movie of the year so far.
Let us work today in private and public entities to prevent a world as presented in this movie, where the human touch and love is constrained by unrealistic expectations or even worse, government policy. We must always live in a world were conscious awareness and moral clarity are never compromised. Love is natural, not a competition...much less being assessed.
I'm sorry but I really can't recommend this film & I wish I hadn't 'listened' to the high scores on Rotten Tomatoes. Yes, it's interesting & intriguing to a point & the acting was very good, in fact everything about the film was good except the actual story. It was a long, drawn out, quite boring film with a very annoying main character. The film dragged on to an ultimately average ending. As they say, that's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back : (
Awful. Sci-fi is my favorite genre, but nothing about this movie was compelling.
Tense and powerful with excellent world building. The Assessor sure committed to the bit
Well that was different. Had an Ex Machina vibe to it. Also, the lead actress pupil's are really big.
bullshit scenario and screenplay
The film features stunning cinematography paired with compelling storytelling. Olsen and Patel convincingly showcase the nuances of a lifeless marriage. However, it is Vikander who stands out, delivering a haunting and unforgettable performance that will leave viewers aghast.
This is a metaphor for how the state's desire for security for all- in a utilitarian ethic- is counter to and destructive of love's possibilities
A must see movie with great plot and powerful performances of Alicia Vikander and Elizabeth Olsen
The performances of the main actors were pretty solid, the plot was sufficiently interesting and intriguing, if anything it lacked a little world building which made it harder to empathize with the couple. Alicia Vikander's Viriginia is a frighteningly good character.
