The movie itself is actually very good. there is a decent amount of gore especially durring the actual autopsy, but I feel like the ending is a bit if a let down. the movie in general and the plot I like, and I love the concept they had planned, but I feel like there could've been a better ending to the film.

Horror movies often rely on the fear of the unknown, and The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016), handle this very well. Unlike traditional horror films filled with haunted houses or cruel and angry spirits, this film keeps its fear behind the whole scene A simple autopsy quickly turns into a terrifying nightmare that combines scientific reality with unsetting, ghostly
themes. It’s a film that doesn’t just scare, it unsettles, leaving the audience with more questions than answers.
Quick to the movie overall, one day the body of an unnamed young woman is delivered to a father and son, team of coroners. There are no obvious symptoms or signs of trauma or hints as to how she passed away. However, when they started their investigation, they find a number of unsetting irregularities, each of which led complexity to her case.
The film builds its horror not with sudden jump scares but with an overwhelming sense of fear. Every cuts, every discovery revealed back not just the mystery of Jane Doe but also a creeping, mysterious terror. The movie is a little simple at first, but as they examine her deeper, they draws the audience and make them want to know what happen to her, which slowly leads them to wonder who is she?
What makes the story so effective is how it plays with the unknown. Every time you think you’re close to understanding what’s happening, a new discovery shifts the entire perspective. It’s like solving a puzzle where each piece only deepens the mystery. The tension never lets up, and as the morgue transforms from a place of science into a waking nightmare,
you’ll find yourself just as trapped as the characters.
Next one of the film’s strongest elements is its atmosphere. The setting is a right fit, isolated morgue and feels like a character in itself, where reasons start to fall apart. The creepy sound design, turning on a little light, and a strange silence that makes every single movement appear dangerous and mystery. That all combine to the slow burning but
never-ending tension.
The film expertly plays with the audience’s expectations, making them question what is real and
what is not. True horror isn’t just about what is revealed, it’s about what is left unknown and this movie is the best example of it.
This film is a must-watch. But just be warned that once you step into this morgue, you may not leave unshaken. This is not a film that gives you easy scares and then lets you sleep peacefully. It stays with you, repeating in the back of your
mind. The best horror films make you feel something beyond fear and unease, curiosity, even dread and The Autopsy of
Jane Doe achieves this perfectly. The unanswered questions don’t feel like plot holes, they make the story even more haunting. If you’re a fan of horror films that focus on atmosphere and psychological terror rather than cheap thrills, and
also hunt you with shocking plot forever, this is the perfect fit movie for you

This movie caught me by surprise. This horror movie uses both physical and psychological horror effectively. The whole movie takes place in a morgue. The creepy atmosphere this creates , plus the many sensory scares that happen, just pull you into this scary little tale. You feel like you're there working the graveyard shift in a morgue with a evil entity waiting to get you. Emile Hirsch is working in the morgue, where a woman's body is the vessel of evil. By the end of the night, he finds out that he is dealing with a witch. This movie came out before " The Possession of Hannah Grace." Both have the same type of setting and horrific ambience. Check both of them out.

One of the scariest films I've watched in ages. Genuinely a really good film with lots of scary moments. Clever writing that doesn't rely on cheap gimmicks or overdone tropes.

I really liked it until it became a ritualistic thing. The cat broke my heart, and I wish there was more of a storyline about the family (like what exactly happened to the mom, what kind of stuff was she dealing with?). I also found it very unclear what the actual reason for Jane doe being possessed or whatever was. I get she was a witch but how the hell does she do that. It felt really culty in the end, and the whole movie ended stupidly. Amazing performance from the actors, but I wish there was more substance in the film. The visuals were extremely well done, and however they did the bodies was very realistic and accurate to what I imagine a dead body looks like. Very interesting and I really liked the first half of it.
