The Big Sick Reviews
Beautiful drama with a lot of wit
Interesting look at a first generation American Muslim and the difficulties in blending two totally different cultures. Sitting on the fence until you realize what you really want. Worth a watch.
Not sure what people are talking about with 'slow start' I'd argue the beginning of the movie is best part, it's laying the foundation for everything to come, if anything I feel like the "Act I" should've been longer. Anyway... sad/funny/cute/heartwarming movie all around, touches on some unusual subjects like arranged marriage & how religion can dictate family 'values' & sever bonds over imaginary friends & culture. Amazing love story though.
I liked it. It was a cute dramedy. I also like that it's based on Kumail & Emily's true love story. It was a tad too long, & I didn't need her parent's story so much, but I recommend seeing it for sure.
This is one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. Drama with some great unexpected in it. Originally screen play and well acted. I've recommended it to several of my friends. They all loved it. Highly recommend this movie- my first 5 star movie rating.
If you are looking for a romantic comedy, keep looking. A romantic comedy would require some level of romance, and there is little to none here. What we have is two young people that have occasional sex and sleep together. And they lie to each other. The relationship is not developed. I found this movie to be a mixed bag. There is some comedy here, but more drama. The comedy is often overshadowed by the sad seriousness of one of the main characters being very ill and in a medically-induced coma. The story is more about Kumail's relationship with his ex?-girlfriend's parents. Much of the humor is very sarcastic or deadpan. The humor is also often very awkward, like an over-extended Saturday Night Live skit. Humor is very subjective. If you like lying, weaselly people, you might find this funny. I had a few chuckles, but at the end I realized I probably would have enjoyed watching a couple episodes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel more.
We are very satisfied with the shirts. We'll order again https://ibommamovies.top/
Most overrated RomCom I have ever seen. It is simply ok.
Overlong and slightly overrated but still enjoyable and fresh romantic comedy drama. Hunter and Romano definite highlights.
It may be a little too long and at times predictable but Nanjiani and Gordon's script is helped by a unique perspective and a really great cast.
The Big Sick is an incredibly heartwarming and charming film that tells a unique and refreshing story. The performances by Kumail Nanjiani and Zoe Kazan are absolutely fantastic, and their chemistry is undeniable. The film tackles serious topics like cultural differences and illness with grace and humor, and manages to strike a perfect balance between comedy and drama. The supporting cast, including Holly Hunter and Ray Romano, are also excellent and add depth to the story. The Big Sick is a must-watch film that will leave you feeling uplifted and inspired. The only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is because there were a few moments where the pacing felt a little slow. This is a minor critique and doesn't detract from the overall excellence of the film. If you're looking for a movie that's both funny and heartfelt, then The Big Sick is definitely worth checking out.
I think, this might be the kind of role Ray Romano was born to play. Holly Hunter can do no wrong. Everything else is great as well. Lovely movie!
Giving a rom-com the highest possible rating is something I've never done before. It's a genre that I usually don't like, with all the bullshit it often entails. Now, this film, is an honest story about life which includes love.
Easy to watch. Really enjoyable. I've seen funnier but what the heck. This movie is what it is and I don't need to be anything other than what it is. I am glad it has been made.
This was surprisingly better than I expected, ruined slightly by the well known actor having left his wife who was the love interest in this film. I guess he didn't really love her...
This movie was entertaining, but I don't know if I found it enjoyable because it's based on a true autobiographical story. Definitely worth watching.
Very interesting movie which connects with the audience in a very empathic way without being just a comedy and not the typical rom com. A very human movie about not giving up and holding on.
It was cute and kept my attention. At times it was sad, happy, and little funny.
Good movie recommend
