The Dark and the Wicked (2020) The Devilish Entity (11,607 – 11 Apr 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) Louise (Marin Ireland) and her brother Michael “Mike” (Michael Abbott Jr.) travel to their parents’ farm in Texas since their father (Michael Zagst) is very ill and terminal. Their mother (Julie Oliver-Touchstone) gives a cold reception to them and says that they should return home. However, they stay in the farm and help the nurse (Lynn Andrews) to take care of their father. Out of the blue, their mother cuts her fingers and hangs herself at the barn, committing suicide. Soon strange things happen in the farm, and they see their deceased mother; a mysterious priest (Xander Berkeley) visits them; their goats are slaughtered; and their friend Charlie (Tom Nowicki) commits suicide. What is happening in their farm? “The Dark and the Wicked” (2020) is a Shudder atmospheric horror movie about a devilish entity that possesses a family in Texas. The tense story is supported by great performances, sinister and dark cinematography and great screenplay. The conclusion is very gloomy and seems to indicate that Louise will be the next victim of the entity. My vote is seven.
