When Bethany and Matt's 5-year-old son, River, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, they followed all of the current dietary guidelines for managing his disease, and for three years, they were in a constant state of crisis management. Their son had dangerously high and low blood sugars, endless trips to the school nurse, and he continually missed activities due to diabetes. In June of 2016, they hit rock bottom and changed everything. After a very sincere and defeated post on social media by Bethany, several families reached out to inform them about their similar story and another way to manage diabetes inspired by an 86-year-old doctor. Immediately, they changed their diets and instantly they saw results. River went from feeling miserable all day to being an honor student and a nationally ranked athlete. It only took a few tweaks to his diet and insulin strategy for his blood sugars became normal and healthy. The Diabetes Solution examines their all-too-familiar story, the current guidelines, their success, and the corruption that hides this solution from people with diabetes. It's an undeniable example of how people with diabetes can prevent complications and live a full and healthy life. Its purpose is to bring a message of hope to people with diabetes and to shine a light on why the truth has been hidden all along.

Harvey S. Karten Big Apple Reviews Though some of the doc's ideas are not effectively nuanced, you come away with some disgust at Big Pharma and Big Agriculture and broad knowledge about Type 1 Diabetes and suggested treatments. Rated: B_ Nov 11, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member This movie seems to be nothing more than a religious revolution to a fringe medical ideology that lacks in methodology or a basis in either fact or sustainability for the normal family. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Terrible. One of the ‘doctors' that isn't even a diabetic doctor (but is the producers husband), opens with …'after you are diagnosed you are fast tracking to amputations and blindness'.. Scare tactics and fatalistic mistruth-bombs levied to drive parents of newly diagnosed type 1 children to eating a keto diet filled with fat and meat and cheap outdated Walmart insulin. This was produced by writers of keto cookbooks and carnivore diet gurus with branding throughout. (Look closely at the credits). Best actor award goes to the good ‘doctor' Dikeman, (who is portrayed as a medical doctor throughout) has no medical license. In fact he has a doctorate in philosophy. Rubbish. Save your $. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Great work by these filmmakers capturing the life threatening challenges endured following a type 1 diabetes diagnosis and how to live a strong and healthy life afterwards. A must watch for anyone interested in knowing the truth and how to think for themselves when it matters most! Well done folks. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Finally people speaking the truth about how best to manage type 1 diabetes. I'm so grateful I never accepted the advice (of eat what you want and cover with insulin) given to me on diagnosis by the NHS. My hba1c has been below 5.2% from two months after my diagnosis thanks to Dr Bernstein, a low carb diet and the type1grit community on Facebook. This is a must watch for anyone affected by type 1 diabetes Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A well kept secret in the medical community. After 48 years with Type 1, I am now healthy, and use a fraction of the insulin I once did. In just a little over 4 years I have healed my gastroparesis, and neuropathy. So glad to see this information available! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Great film! Given parents and adults hope in treating and managing blood glucose without the rollercoaster. Overdosing insulin tends to follow after consuming a high glycemic meal, eliminating that factor makes living with diabetes much easier. The film is not saying don't eat carbs at all, it's saying eat less carbs and what type of carbs to avoid. ALL CARBS ARE NOT EQUAL!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
