The Feast Reviews
Absolute masterpiece ! Cinematography is beautiful but what I personally appreciated is the subtleness of the script, which is so rare. Acting is also very good. Bravo !
Até poderia ser alguma coisa se o roteiro tivesse alguma linha condutora. Tudo muito aleatório.
Or course we can’t expect this movie to be a classic american horror piece with every detail explained and not leave anything to imagination and analytic thinking, but it doesn’t mean that because the movie is theatrical and philosophical its a good watch, I enjoy european horror movies and admire them in many ways but this one wasn’t for me.
Warning: light spoiler ahead. It's so irritating how many idiots rate a movie poorly just because every detail isn't spelled out for them. It's literally based on the concept of Gaia inhabiting a human vessel in order to punish a toxic, destructive and hedonistic family.
Tries to be intelligent, but fails. Horrible on every dimension.
This is one of the top five horror films I've seen in the last 10 years.
I slept on it after watching last night. Upon reflection, was actually a very interesting and unique story. However, it's extremely difficult to sit through. I can mind the slow burn pace. However, it gets a little to weird and art house for me at the end when all hell breaks loose. Had I rated it last night, it would have been worse. However, story was good. I just wished they could have executed things a little differently around the finale.
What did I just watch? Seriously what the f*ck did I just watch? I have no clue.
Annes Elwy is the only thing redeeming about this one however well made it truly is. I eagerly await her next film.
its weird. but, overall, worth the watch.
A slow burn for sure, but a beautiful madness to behold. The visuals and performances are top notch.
This is an original, well-made and disturbing horror film! The viewer's attention is held by the increasing strangeness and mystery of the actress' behavior, as the false appearance of a fulfilling family life crumbles, and the film crescendos into horror, madness and terror.
At times this Welsh spoken horror from Lee Haven Jones is beautifully shot, but still gives off the feeling of uneasiness from it's lingering shots, ominous score & sound. The story takes its time with the storytelling before building up to some wince-inducing moments of horror.
One of my fav films of the year. Slasher horror fans won't like it but it is delicious if slow but a feast should never be rushed...
Wow, so very slow and badly acted. The main girl shows up with a whole bucket of hair gel on her head and proceeds to creep around, spy on everyone, and not say a word. It's toooo slow, 45 minutes in I had no idea what the plot was. Just poorly made but ostentatious and smug at the same time.
I didn't finish watching this movie. It's...kinda? interesting, but just seems kind of random and tedious. It's nowhere near as intense and spooky as the trailer I saw for it gave the impression it was. I guess there's an audience for it out there, but I'm not part of it, I guess.
Definitely has it's share of "wait, what?" moments, which were very welcome. I enjoyed my time with the film, it was fun guessing what's going to happen next. This was also the first Welsh movie I have ever seen.
This film is a series of disconnected moments with characters that have completely unexplained or nonexistent motives. The primary antagonist barely speaks which in a better movie wouldn't be a bad thing but in this one it only serves to confuse the audience. If I could give it zero stars I would, do yourself a favour and don't pay to see this movie
The Feast sets up in a serene background and becomes a twisted horror story on a short notice. It's sudden pickup of phase cleverly conjure the predatory ambush. Excellent character set-up. A fresh innovative approach to it's theme.
‘The Feast' is Bloody Good Eco-Horror
