Sal D Very well acted film in need of a little less cliches to rise above the rest. nick Noltr’s performance kept me engaged but his arc is so utterly predictable that it was just a matter of timing. Supportive, caring, not judgemental, guiding and gently teaching. As the movie goes on we learn about how God guided Barry and KJ's life to the time they meet, support and care for each other. It was as if Barry was KJ's guardian angel...eventually, well, just watch the movie, but, have your tissues nearby. Always good intentioned sometimes bordering on schmaltzy a story can't falter too much when the emphasis is on what matters, God, decency, purpose and the difference kindness makes in everyday people's lives. Nolte dazzles in a role practically written for him and Jones shines as a kid with some acting skills and pipes to match.
