Subsidized by a wealthy patron, Simon Geist (Dan Zukovic) spends his time posing as a Los Angeles reporter -- just so he can challenge, scoff at and deride the various wannabes who are willing to subject themselves to his scathing interviews. Meanwhile, his roommate and biggest fan, Darla (Susan Heimbeinder), is making a real magazine about him. But when Simon actually falls for a model he interviews, Darla begins to wonder if he isn't a wannabe himself.

Serge L Dan Zukovic's "The Last Big Thing" is one of my favorite independent films. Saw it a couple times on Showtime back in the day, and it has stuck in my mind as truly subversive and hilarious cinema. Worth a check out if you can find it.
