Looking to mine for gold, greedy industrialist Bartholomew Bogue seizes control of the Old West town of Rose Creek. With their lives in jeopardy, Emma Cullen and other desperate residents turn to bounty hunter Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington) for help. Unoriginal. Poor production. It's rare for a good movie to come out of Hollywood in this day and age, especially Westerns. This remake failed on all accounts. Unfortunate.

Pale imitation of the original. Gatling guns don't have anywhere near the range shown in the movie. Chris Pratt gets shot three times then calmly walks across the field, ignored by all the bad guys and blows up the gatling gun. The only decent performance was Vincent D'onofrio. Makes one appreciate the original all the more.

Another instance of Hollywood's inability to make decent new films. This unnecessary and subpar remake fails on just about every level. Id strongly advise people to watch the original, or better still: The Seven Samurai, which even the most ardent Denzel Washington fan, will find vastly more entertaining
