This movie is well worth watching. Not just a horror film, but a real look at societies & how people treat each other. The Pit, a multi level type of prison, houses people who have been sent there for crimes & people who signed up to go there. It is never explained why anyone would voluntarily go, but I assumed it was because they didn't understand what they were getting into. Food is the currency- because the upper levels of the Pit begin eating from a giant platform of food. By the time it reaches many levels down, there isn't any food left. People kill themselves, each other & at the lower levels, resort to cannibalism. The idea is that if each level rationed their own food, there would be enough for everyone. Kind of brilliant idea for this type of storytelling. However, human nature being what is is, it's very difficult to talk the people on the upper levels to ration their intake, thereby leaving food for people on the lower levels who will starve. Prisoners are forbidden from hoarding food & every 30 days they are assigned to a new, randomly chosen level. It is gory & frightening, but also tells an interesting story. Cinematography was excellent. Acting very good.

Pseudo intellectual nonsense, Im sorry I watched this. Trying to make the kind of social commentry you might hear in a university coffee shop from 21 year olds who think they are god's gift to humanity
Acting was solid, premise was kind of interesting but execution was abysmal. The character motivations are paper thin, the plot is rambling, and there is "and then and then" story telling.
Avoid like the plague

"The Platform" is one of those movies that sticks with you long after the credits roll. It's not your typical horror flick, though it definitely has some gruesome moments. This isn't about jump scares, it's about a terrifying concept that's surprisingly relevant to our world.
The directing is brilliant. They keep the tension high throughout, and the way they use the limited space of "the pit" is incredibly claustrophobic. The cinematography is equally impressive, with some truly unsettling visuals. The acting is solid across the board, with each character adding a unique layer to the story.
The script is sharp and thought-provoking. It doesn't spoon-feed you the message, forcing you to grapple with the ethical dilemmas at the heart of this dystopian society. And let's not forget the score, which is both eerie and unsettling, perfectly complementing the film's atmosphere. "The Platform" is a disturbing and unforgettable cinematic experience.

I was recommended to watch this movie, everyone said it was gory, it was interesting, descried it as the best thriller one of 2019.
What I'm about to say is going to strongly differ from most reviews.
I definitely felt robbed from the time I spent watching this movie. It did not intrigued me even a tiny bit. The plot was bland, the whole movie was taking forever without anything special at all happening and the ending was beyond dissapointing.
I thought I've watched worse movies before, but that one will definitely will be in my top 10 worst movies ever watched. And don't get me wrong - I am a huge fan of all kinds of thrillers, horrors, dramas, psychedelic movies, etc., but that one just wasn't my cup of tea. It didn't leave me thinking about the moral of the story as most movies that I watch do, but gave me the bitter taste of the waste of time I'm never going to get back.
