The Quiet Girl Reviews
Beautiful film. The setting is magnificent. And the acting superb.
A quiet but rich movie.
This movie was absolutely beautiful. The acting, the cinematography, the beautiful story. An absolute joy.
Loved the movie - didn't realize it was in Irish - or "Gaeilge" to be specific - and think actually that added to the experience. I had read the book, Foster, and found the movie engendered a similar emotional experience. It is short but packs a punch.
Utterly superb movie. What a movie should be, but so rarely is.
Loved the ending......
I loved every minute of the film. She may have been quiet but her eyes and body language spoke volumes!
Excellent movie. Thank you
Very different. Thought at first would drag. But each new scene brought you to think a lot more about what was really happening. Pretty good!
A touching and heartfelt film. Yes its a bit predictable but it used its run time perfectly. And that final scene will make you cry if youre human
Beautiful scenery, good acting but so so somber, really sad
Very slow moving film.
This is now on my list of the the most poignant movies of my entire 74 years of living
Awesome. Mood and sets were very authentic to the period 1981. Wonderful, emotional ending.
An exquisite portrait of a neglected child experiencing genuine love and care for the first time. It is both tender and gripping.
Slow but good, gentle slow. Did NOT like the ending.
Beautiful, heart wrenching. The cinematography is stunning. The performances are outstanding.
It is a BEAUTIFUL movie -- it is beautifully filmed, the acting is superb, and while the ending is not what one would hope for -- it is still a lovely story about love for a child. The best thing is there is NO violence -- it is a quiet film, meaning it is not full of the special effects and other filler one finds in blockbuster movies. Just a quiet story about a quiet girl, and her family. LOVELY!!!!!!!!
Terrific beautifully filmed.
Bought tickets for this through Fandango and a few hours later we got a flood warning in our area so we couldn't go to the movie. Lost a substantial amount in unrefundable rewards because of that. I am not sure why Fandango couldn't just apply the purchase price to the same movie and same time the next night. The star rating here is not for the movie.
