Steve K I just started watching and oh dear.... the goat she walks is a male and then shortly later talking to her brother she says the milk is drying up because it is a long time since she had a baby. Are nanny goats hard to find in film making? She happily buries her father... with his burnt and decaying flesh but makes no attempt at hygene... before going in to peel potatoes. She stitches up someones bullet wounded leg... we do not see the exit point, so she stitched the bullet in there? I think I'll stop watching before it gets worse. However, inconceivably, the script never exploits this idea to generate suspense. So, because the invaders perform no active part whatsoever in this otherwise forgettable film’s action, their presence, as well as this entire project, is completely pointless. Sarah and her blind brother are wondering where their father is when a soldier invades their house. The aliens are mainly used to place the charcters in a situation they normally wouldn't be. The director focuses on the emotional responses to the bleak situation and I'd say their responses are very British. That this above average movie has not had a more fuller viewing, is surprising, but predictable when other more inferior movies are benefitting from misplaced marketing budgets! Good acting and a refreshingly believable script, makes this film more watchable than most. The insanity that humanity exhibits during times of extreme conditions and hardship, is amply manifested in this violent piece. Highly recommended.
