Adam Mullins-Khatib Chicago Reader By the second act the narrative collapses into absurdity. Mar 6, 2020 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies While several story beats make no sense whatsoever (I didn’t even mention the goofy coyote synergy stuff), “The (Silent) War” still has enough verve and genre appeal to make for an entertaining two hours. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 25, 2022 Full Review Renee Schonfeld Common Sense Media Brutal, over-the-top violence in Spanish war drama. Rated: 1/5 Feb 21, 2020 Full Review John Serba Decider You can poke holes in this plot with a plastic spoon. Feb 3, 2020 Full Review Juan Pando Fotogramas Despite having excellent production and style, those virtues are overshadowed by the film's excessive length. Eduard E It appears as a high-quality "Spanish western". Moments of quiet intertwine with instances of intense noise. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/23 Full Review Kelly J At times this was a true B movie, other times I was locked into it. My best assessment is that it has such interesting parts that it's worth seeing. Don't try to make sense of some things, I couldn't, but dig into all the rest. The Russian sniper was the element that took it to B and C status, not just her acting, but her entire role was hokey. However, Vincente's wife plays an excellent part and she deserves major kudos, as does the girl who plays her daughter (maybe 10 years old). Yeah, strange. Really strange. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/05/23 Full Review T T This is a terrible movie. It's a series of disjointed, aimless, and chaotic scenes that don't flow smoothly or make any sense at all. There are countless plot holes. It's also dark, depressing, boring, and unnecessarily long. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/04/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie made so little sense that I didn't finish it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member O filme não tem qualquer nexo. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Terriblemente lenta, if you cut Off all the scenes where the movie wants to show his deaf, maybe the movie would last 45 minutes only.
