Thr3e Reviews
Considering that the premise of the entire film is completely impossible, none of this works, starting the second you hit play. The "killer ending" is not a real mental disorder, has never been recorded as a mental disorder, is not even possible as a mental disorder even if it were made up by someone, and is far, far different from multiple personalities (Dissociative Identity Disorder). The whole "psychiatric disturbance" premise doesn't work at all simply because it doesn't follow real-world rules, or even movie rules. The "motive" behind it all is lunacy (not in the way the film means), and completely impossible and illogical. This is simply not how even the most disturbingly severe cases of Dissociative Identity Disorder work. They do not hallucinate every personality throughout life, contrary to what the fictitious A Beautiful Mind might have you believe. The disorder itself is represented here in a form that is so astronomically severe and unrestrainedly pathological that it's just...lame as hell. I can't like a film that takes the disorder and turns it into a fictitious, nonsensical drama because it makes for a ludicrous premise that flies out of reality and into some other realm where even movie logic is bent, as at least there's *some* accuracy in disorders sometimes when represented on-screen. Writers love their multiple personality nonsense despite apparently knowing absolutely nothing about it whatsoever, and the way it's done here sucks. Don't bother; the ending ruins anything the movie might have done right before it so it's just extraordinarily stupid. It borrowers FILMS like SAW, ADAPTATION & SE7EN which that's unacceptable it has to be films that are NOT borrowed and BTW the character name Kevin it makes me disappointed and frustrated because that is actually my first name. It is definitely a no rating out of 10, don't watch this, don't buy this and if you buy it for like $1 I think you can let that slide its just a dollar it wouldn't not frustrate your money, one dollar nothing to $5 which what a good comparison. On the DVD version which it will not have a blu-ray release it has no special features, not even deleted scenes, bloopers, behind the scenes, featurettes, short documentaries just none of the features of the dvd. Not even a unrated version to make it more entertaining. What a piece of s__t!
I procrastinated after watching partway through and did chores
Full one star as there was a little twist to the ending. Story was lacking and not enough to keep any real interest.
I watched this on January 3rd. I had more fun turning the movie off 3/4 through and putting the Christmas tree away. This highschool play shouldn't have made it to video
Just. Freaking. Terrible.
Great story, Great ending, Just a tad bit boring to watch. But if you can get passed the poor acting. Its worth the ending.
This movie is okay. I read the book, which was fantastic, as are all of Ted Dekker's novels. When I saw the ratings for it, I expected it to be terrible. Much better than I expected since I expected absolutely nothing. The acting wasn't great, but it kept to the book better than I expected it to. Worth seeing once. Now I have to read the book again because it is considerably better than the movie.
Loving the book as much as I did made Thr3e that much worse for me. Terrible acting made this supposed to be intense thriller a laugh out loud. If you're gonna do Ted Dekker, do it right guys.
Mediocrity surrounds this tale of a man tormented by his past when a serial bomber targets him and the people around him...This whole movies rips so much off from Se7en it's not even funny and the book it's based on by Ted Dekker is no damn good either.
With the budget they had, I guess it's the best they could do. Marc Blucas was the best actor in it, but the direction could've been better.
I hated this film. It seemed like an utterly nonsensical spoof of psycho. I hated it with a passion.
There is plenty of bad acting and cheesieness to tempt you away from the movie. However, if you can stick through those bad spots its really a great movie with an incredible twist. I wasn't disappointed at the end which is the danger in these psychological thrillers. Its also pg13 and I don't really remember any language so its also clean for this type of movie. Another positive. All in all really good movie.
