Tortilla Soup Reviews
Interesting movie about a family and the interactions between father and three daughters as they move out and start their own lives.
Go watch for an accurate representation of Mexican-American life! A great film about family and tradition with a modern take. Go watch it now!! :D
On the Low budget side but well written and acted.
“Eat Drink Man Woman.” Flavorful and fun.
This movie had been on my TBW list forever and I'm really glad that I finally watched it. I didn't expect to love this movie so much, but it was amazing. The cast including Hector Elizondo (whom I've loved in so many movies and 온라인카지노추천 shows-Monk in particular), Jacqueline Orbradors (whom I loved on NYPD Blue) and Elizabeth Pena (love her too!) were great! I really liked Paul Rodriguez because although he had some funny lines but it was nice to see a more dramatic side of him opposite Elizabeth Pena. The storyline is family oriented, centering around a family of three daughters and their father and the relationship of the daughters with their respective love interests. It flipped back and forth between stories but it was really easy to follow and not confusing at all. The food-OMG, the food shown was absolutely amazing and the filmmakers have made the food a star, which rivals the actors and actresses. There is barely any swearing and no nudity at all, which was a wonderful surprise. Loved everything about this movie except for a few plot holes that could have been explained better, but overall "Tortilla Soup" is wonderful. I loved the way the Spanish and English were mixed so well. It really brought out the theme of the film. I highly recommend it, but maybe not when you're hungry.
Tortilla Soup is a charming movie, but suffers in comparison to Ang Lee's original.
Tortilla Soup is an endearing film. It is about a Mexican-American master chef and father to three daughters has lost his taste for food but not for life. Hector Elizondo and Tamara Mello give excellent performances. The screenplay is good but a little slow in places. Maria Ripoll did a great job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the romance.
I loved that they kept the main theme of the movie from Eat Drink Man Woman intact and was able to effectively show the relationship scenarios cross the cultural divide making the world seem like a smaller place so to speak.
I love this movie. The characters and story plots are as rich and delicious as the food looks. although it allllways makes me want to eat some great food when i watch it!
It was kind of boring. Also, this is nothing like a real Mexican family. It was very fake and seemed to want real Mexicans to be like the characters in this movie. It also sucks that none of the family members are actually Mexican. The Brazilian is a German that was born in France! Paul Rodriguez and Constance Marie are the only real Mexicans in this movie. Aside from the casting the story was very slow and weak. The only part that was good was when the dad asked the daughter of an older lady to marry him.
