The Ultimate Gift Reviews
This is my favorite inspirational movie, first of all Drew Fuller who played Jay does a great job acting spoiled and carefree when you first meet him but clearly has some unresolved issues from his childhood, and he's cute to boot. And then Abigail Breslin does a great job as sassy Emily and Bill Cobbs as ornery Mr. Hamilton. And the movie has a great message about there being more to life than money. Lastly, there's a clear disconnect between the Popcornmeter and the Tomatometer. Well, the critics can stuff it.
I guess I will be the odd one. This movie shows humanity in ways the world has completely forgotten. If you come from certain parts of the world, you will find out just how awesome this movie is. So yes I am giving it a five star even if a lot of people disagree.
The Ultimate Gift is one of the best movies I have ever seen and a perfect movie for the whole family. The Gifts of Work, Money, Friends, Learning, Problems, Family, Laughter, Dreams, Giving, Gratitude, the Gift of a Day and the Gift of Love. Watched the entire movie hugging my daughter, wife and son, so glad I chose this movie. James Garner is incredible in this movie. Of course any movie with a statue of Jesus Christ is always a good movie. There are two sequels to this movie, The Ultimate Life and The Ultimate Legacy. If they are half as good The Ultimate Gift I am certain they will be outstanding. Both my son and daughter want to watch the sequels.
I absolutely love this movie 🥲🥲 very very recommended
I think this movie was highly underrated. The moral story of the gifts is a highly thoughtful and reflection on what people consider "gifts" and what truly is important in life.
Filme: O Presente Assistido: 18-11-23 Elenco: @abbienormal9 @drewfuller Bill Cobbs, Brian Dennehy, James Garner @missalihillis Modelo: #drama #comedia #romance Duração: 1h 58m Ano: 2006 Minha opinião: Um filme tocante e emocionante. Nota: 8,75
I came here to give this a 3.5*. But seeing the "critics" tank it with a 33%, while the audiences gives it an *84%*, just convinces me, in spite of the fairly manipulative emotional content and heart-string tugging, along with a transformation pace that stains credulity, it's still a fulfilling holiday watch. So that's a *strong* 3.5* (I can't push it up in to 4*; there's too many more rarified films at that level it would have to match 😂)
The Ultimate Gift is a beautiful reminder of the value of life. While it is not the most groundbreaking film from a technical standpoint, the core message is both poignant and important. The relationships between Jason and the rest of the characters (especially Emily and Red) are emotionally driven and create immediate investment. There were melodramatic moments and the acting felt forced at times, but it did not distract too much from the message. Walking away, the film accomplishes its core objective of allowing the audience to reflect on their own acts and steps to become better people.
Better than average faith film that teaches the values of human betterment and why we are here as humans. Good cast and it managed to keep my family's attention, despite some of the technical shortcomings. Garner was good in the role, as was the little girl. It was on Amazon.
Improbably coincidental in emotionally manipulating faith with slight ridicule, it by far humbly strengthens as the year's humane portrait over what life truly gives you via teaching with an excellent cast nicely embracing the meaningful lessons. (B+)
Watch it on YouTube, free with ads. It's worth the time. If you love the predictable, relatable this will be one of your favorite films. I don't. I love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Darren Aronofsky. But the Bob Dylan cover of Serve Somebody, B.B. King, and Patsy Cline featuring soundtrack kept me from turning it off until I was truly caught up into the solid performances of the veteran actors as well as some of the younger ones like Abigail Breslin. I'd never seen a Hallmark film until the third in this series came up on YT free with ads autoplay, it is a trash film. But this one, it's good.
This wasn't at all the way I imaged it, and I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Bottom line, it had some really intense scenes that surprised me and Abigial Bresslin wasn't in this a whole lot. The story is a very sad one, but there were some laughs. The main character seemed to change throughout the movie, which was the point, but ultimately he ended up in the same place as before, which was disappointing. It was kind of surreal to see James Garner in the role he was in, given that he's no longer with us.
Sad but heartfelt the performances save a predictable story.
There are so many negative messages in this movie. The main character is unlikable because he said this was the city's bench the bench scene is what made me mad! JASON IS A DOUCHEBAG AND I LIKED THE GIRL WHEN I FIRST MET HER WHILE I SAW THIS MOVIE BUT THEN SHE DIED LIKE WTF? THEN JASON BECOMES A CEO HE DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE ONE HE'S A DOUCHE!!!!!!! I WANT TO KILL JASON!!!!
I love this movie. I grew up with this movie and I've always enjoyed it. It has a heart-warming story and I will always enjoy it.
Utimate Gift is a redemption story. Jason Stevens is a spoiled rich kid who goes to his grandfather's funeral only to be schooled by the dead guy that life is about more than money. This movie is well done with maybe not top notch acting and effects, but it felt like a real movie and not a direct-to-video affair. There are some fairly recognizable faces in the movie as well. The story is heartwarming and the pacing fairly strong. On the down side, some of the scenes just didn't ring true. Somewhere about the second test, Jason all of a sudden becomes a good guy? His conversion seemed almost non-existant. What was up with that out of context trip to South America and the books? The love story also felt a bit tacked on.
One of the most beautiful movies I have seen. It has great life messages that make you realize the really important things in life.
