The plot was slow and confusing at times, but overall, it was an enjoyably eerie film with an intriguing concept.

This movie was super confusing at first but eventually explained everything. It was alright.

i have no idea what I just watched even though the movie does its best to explain towards the end. seems like a hipster take on MK Ultra with a good background score/source music.

Honestly it required way more effort than I was willing to give it, more than the interest level i could wring from it afforded. I do think that the chick that thought it was about "right wing whatever blah blah wimmins this & that" like sis 🤣 you need to look up the Dartmouth Scar Experiment, & go outside or something, bc ummm wtf? Anyways I could've probably followed it better if it were more interesting, but it was glacially paced & not exactly super clear, so i sorta zoned & got bored, stopped paying attention, so then i got MORE lost. I guess I'm too much a baby millennial; i need to be constantly stimulated, or here comes me silently scrolling thru insta... & yeah i hate that, too.

Solid movie, worth the watch, I could see how it could be confusing if you don't pay close attention though. Not a movie to watch with distractions about.

A complete butchering of a great graphic novel. Worth watching as a director to see what never ever to do. Painfully bad.

3 stars; Wow. That movie required a lot of work to follow what was going on. Occasionally, I have to watch a movie for a second time to get it. This was one of those movies. Once I got it, I liked the movie. The plot was original and clever. But at the same time I think it left you in the dark, as to what was really going on, for a little too long. By the time the film hit me with the punchline, as to what was really going on, I was already lost., I needed to watch it a second time to understand what was going on. (SPOILER ALERT past this point) What was going on was that characters in the movie had been hypnotized and were under a post hypnotic suggestion. It's not until the very end until you understand the strategy behind all the hypnosis. Once i understood it, I liked the movie. But I hate the overhead of having to watch it over again, and to sit down and work it all out in my mind.

The first 60 minutes of this movies make no sense at all. Its extremely boring and tedious and intentionally confusing. Very difficult to get through and I wanted to give up several times. The acting is not good, and the casting is really bad. There are some flagrantly obvious Kubrick style camera shots, to the point of being nearly copied. Why bother? The second half of the movies shows some initial promise as things are suddenly explained, all at once, after an hour of pure torture for some reason. This was one of the most completely unenjoyable films I have ever seen - dismal, bleak, awful pacing, and terrible story. Even the music is annoying and often out of place. There is a kernal of a good idea here, but it is totally squandered by every other aspect of this film. The ending and "big reveal" is absurd and extremely overdone, but I was thankful it was finally over.

Ambitious, and that's good, but it's a little too ambitious. It's hard to understand what's going on and why. I had to read an article to figure out what I just watched. The music/sound design is really cool, but it has a gravity that is not present in the movie. The two don't coalesce well. It's a good movie, probably needs a second watch, but it's not good enough for one. Could have been way better, and scarier.

‘Ultrasound' Spins Disorienting Cerebral Sci-Fi Mystery

A really brilliant commentary on right wing manipulation, predatory behaviour and the cumulative impact of Bannon style political populism on women. Just incredible smart. Also enjoyable, compelling and kept me guessing until the end!

Fresh, weirdo, totally original scifi very loooow budget 💪😁

Looked promising, but flopped with the convoluted amateur screenplay. It's one of those films that hold your attention, expecting something great to ultimately happen, only to be let down with a cluttered, convoluted, incoherent and incohesive story. There was just no reward, and it looked like a bunch of screenplays were thrown in the shredder then randomly taped together. It tried too hard to be smart, and lost focus on any character development to align with the story. Then add the terrible pacing to the convoluted plot's 103 min runtime, and you'll be begging for something thrilling to happen quick so the film can end. Why would the producers hire an amature writer in his first screenplay, and not at least have a seasoned writer look it over? Schroeder's directing was adequate, but what stood out was the cinematography and score. The only convincing performances were Kartheiser, Lopez and Qualley. Everyone else, especially Wool, were stale and seemed amateurish. Maybe part blame goes to Schroeder's failure to direct his cast properly. It's too bad, this film had tons of potential. It's a 6/10 from me.

I didn't think much of this movie.....lately I hate when I have to think to hard about what's going on & explain it to my husband & this was one of those flashback what's happening movie.....didn't enjoy at all!!!

Saw this at Tribeca last year. Thought it was amazing. Glad to see that's its finally out.
