Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media For that reason it feels less like a movie that can be judged for its accuracy and soundness as a piece of history than as a project that illustrates the outcome when luck and ingenuity combine to save lives in dark times. Cookie K This movie is extraordinary! It is not depressing. It is a story of hope and resilience. The characters are interesting, funny, and complicated. It is also a reminder of the historical essence that freedom can be so easily purloined. It is NOT to be missed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/17/25 Full Review Sarah M I can't stop thinking about this movie. The way it unfolds, the resilience of the subjects, the love that they share and the lives that they've made in spite of all they went through. I tell everyone I know to see it. The storytelling is beautiful, but it's the characters that you'll fall in love with. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/16/25 Full Review Patricia R Beth- I loved the film. I so admire you for doing this! A gargantuan task and important film to have made. You did more than your family honor. You expertly put a light on those wonderful women who are alive to tell their incredible story and made history for those who wish to deny it ever happened. You somehow kept a note of positivity. More than about survival, you rescue the narrative from bitter hopelessness. There is so much love, recovery, and even joy in the heroines and heroes of your family. Congratulations this is a lifetime achievement Beth! You must be very proud. Pat Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/09/25 Full Review Elizabeth K This was a very moving and beautiful documentary done by Beth Lane who clearly told the story of how her mother and siblings survived the Holocost and escaped Berlin for New York and then Chicago. Beth clearly captures this story with so much love and enthusiasm and I am so proud of her accomplishment with this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/08/25 Full Review Rita S Unbroken tells the gripping true story of seven siblings as children torn apart by the Holocaust, each escaping to the U.S., being adopted by different families. Years later, they reunite as adults in an emotional, unforgettable moment. This film is about more than survival, it's about the strength of family, memory, and hope. It’s more important now than ever to keep telling the stories of these courageous survivors during the Holocaust . People should never forget the horrors they endured nor the monsters who were behind them. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/06/25 Full Review David S What a remarkable and dramatic story. The resilience and strength of these young siblings is a lesson for all to see. True indomitable spirits! Kudos to newcomer director Beth Lane. A masterful job bringing this story to the screen. The bits of animation used to help the audience visually understand the historic details was beautiful crafted. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/04/25 Full Review Read all reviews
