Cookie K This movie is extraordinary! It is not depressing. It is a story of hope and resilience. The characters are interesting, funny, and complicated. It is also a reminder of the historical essence that freedom can be so easily purloined. It is NOT to be missed! I so admire you for doing this! A gargantuan task and important film to have made. You did more than your family honor. You expertly put a light on those wonderful women who are alive to tell their incredible story and made history for those who wish to deny it ever happened. You somehow kept a note of positivity. More than about survival, you rescue the narrative from bitter hopelessness. There is so much love, recovery, and even joy in the heroines and heroes of your family.
