Manohla Dargis Spin Singer has an obvious grasp of craft, but it's far less clear whether he has anything to say about movies, violence, the world, or his place in the world. Dec 27, 2022 Full Review Doug Thomas Seattle Times An imaginative, entertaining crime mystery with plenty of nerve and vigor. Rated: 3.5/4 Jun 18, 2013 Full Review Jay Boyar Orlando Sentinel If the pleasures of The Usual Suspects are the more superficial ones of ingenuity and style, those are abundantly available. The twists and turns of the plot are an awful lot of fun, while the ending is genuinely satisfying and surprising. Jun 18, 2013 Full Review Todd James Vue Weekly (Edmonton, Alberta) The end of this movie doesn't justify the means as director Bryan Singer takes his audience on a cat and mouse chase that never finds its way. Rated: 2/5 Mar 29, 2024 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...a perpetually engrossing endeavor that benefits from its myriad of above-average, inherently spellbinding attributes... Rated: 4/4 Jan 9, 2024 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy With one Internet to rule them all, it's hard for most folks to avoid cinematic spoilers of yore (whether it's the sled in Citizen Kane or the penis in The Crying Game), but even knowing the answer shouldn't spoil this film's myriad other pleasures. Todd B I love it. What can I say, I'd watch it over and over again. Tough-guy crime stuff. Mind screwery. Well executed twist. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/13/25 Full Review Kevin P An awesome crime noir with a fascinating mystery that keeps unraveling and escalating the stakes as we navigate the fluid timeline kickstarted by the titular usual suspects roundup. The main cast hits it out of the park with great performances. So much tension builds up once we learn about the infamous criminal boogeyman "Keyser Soze" and just how much power he has. All leading up to a riveting climax, with an amazing twist that's followed up by an even bigger twist that recontextualizes the entire movie. Never have I ever wanted to rewatch a movie so soon after it ended! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/12/25 Full Review Frans B One of the greatest movies ever. Expertly written, directed and edited. Cinematography is exceptional. The stellar cast excels in character. Pay attention and still you will be wrong, I guarantee. Absolutely awesome movie with one sucker punch of an ending. Brilliant Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review M B This is the kind of movie that only comes along every decade. A masterpiece! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review Jens W Absolute must-see. Top 5 movie of all time imo. Revolutionary for its time and probably the best movie from its genre. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/05/25 Full Review Casey R It is very Rare that I write reviews, now I don't want to spoil the ending but WOW WOW WOW!
