This is a cute fun silly movie. It's a favorite of mine from childhood. Still cute and funny watching it now. Gorgeous scenery and a fun soundtrack. I watch this movie every summer. A fun beach movie to watch during the summertime.

It’s funny, I’ve basically seen this movie several times throughout my childhood through the countless parodies that nearly every sitcom and children’s show has done at least once in one of their filler episodes. But to finally see the original that started it all was crazy to watch. The movie itself holds up surprisingly well and is really funny despite it’s one-joke gimmick thanks to the excellent chorography and comedic timing with the physical comedy and improvisational acting from the main leads (both of whom share great chemistry). Some good subversions too like Bernie’s initial plan to whack off the two leads due to his own embezzlement, his hitman turning on him out of convenience, and their utter shock when he’s allegedly still alive. Good commentary on oblivious yuppie culture as well. Despite the crude subject matter, the movie feels oddly comforting thanks to its sunny beachside setting and overall laid-back tone. It might be too repetitive or familiar to some, but personally I really dug the great physical comedy and charismatic leads, and I’d certainly say it’s worth the hype from the all the endless parodies.

Fun movie with great body humor and absurd jokes, thats the way I love it

Weekend at Bernie's elicits surprisingly many laughs for a silly slapstick comedy. It's a bold attempt to create a film with such an improbable premise. Yet, they executed it exceptionally well, resulting in one of the most hilarious and memorable comedies of the 80s.

What kind of heartless, humorless social maladaptate doesn't like this movie? It's the quintessential eighties slapstick comedy, and a true classic that will stand the test of time. Docking a star because Kiser's performance was a little rigid. Yuk yuk yuk.

Some say they milked the Bernie bit too much, I didn't see that personally, though I did feel the comedy was generally cliché and predictable. That being said, the cast killed it, the plot was suprisingly thorough, and the jokes that were original were hilarious. 87/100

It maybe stretches the gag a little thin but it's one of those rare comedies that made me cry with laughter and only a precious, small amount over the years have done that. Highly recommended.

I watched this on DVD recently. The film is quite good up until the point where Bernie is killed. After that point, it's garbage. Dragging a dead guy around a beach resort is not funny the first time, but to spend half the film doing it hoping that it will get funny is madness. I really could not believe that anyone could run with this plan and hope to satisfy an audience. It's just bad taste repeated over and over until the film ends. If I'd have been at the Cinema I would have walked out! It's a shame because the initial story was good and the film has a lovely location which could have been used much better. As it is, I found the film very irritating and distasteful, and I would recommend people to avoid it.

Without a doubt one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I laughed until my ribs hurt.

It's been a long time since I've seen this movie so it might not hold up, but I always remember it having me in stitches when I was a kid/teen.

Weekend at Bernie's is a slapstick comedy masterpiece, not only the humor is good but there's not a single misplaced element during the whole film, every piece of dialogue leads to something, every visual element has a meaning, and every character trait has a reason to be, so overall this is a pretty good movie.

filme bacaninha, o roteiro é mais ou menos, gostei de algumas cenas, umas cenas engraçadas outas não tinha graça, só que o ruim do filme os dois caras, estavam abraçados com o bernie morto, quase o filme todo, mas ninguem percebeu o cheiro do cadaver do bernie, esse filme eu recomendo mas para algumas pessoas o filme pode ser ruim.

Proves that a one joke comedy can make you laugh multiple times.

The movie helps to close out the great decade of the 80's. It's not the best movie ever made by any stretch of the imagination but it's entertaining. It encapsulates the decade and its style of fun and humor. Who knew that water skiing could be so fun?

You can't make movies like this anymore another call Classic with some amazing talent
