It might not be as perfect as Garden State, but it's still very much underrated. It's a beautiful story of a person struggling with life and fatherhood. Maybe I can relate more than others, but I do love this movie.

I found this quite a touching film - its got sentimentality in it, as should be expected given its mainly about the impending death of a relative but its not overly, excessively cheesy in a predictably bad way. I was surprised given this is categorised as a comedy film but it does have some amusing moments - its more a pretty amusing film with some nice touches than a big laugh out loud sort of a film but I thought that overall it was really quite good as Zach Braff does a good job playing the main character, the father Aidan Bloom. I liked the kids, how they challenged their father at times and how the 3 of them got on together, while Kate Hudson plays their mother. The performances are decent and its both amusing and touching, with a nice amount of quirkiness, so I felt it was well made overall and on that basis I'd recommend it.

I dialoghi sono scorrevoli, divertenti e quasi sempre naturali. Non si riesce a creare una particolare empatia con i personaggi e si finisce per godersi la storia senza mai entrarne veramente in contatto. Manca qualche cambio di ritmo, ogni tanto ci si adagia troppo sullo stesso mood.

Heartfelt film that has provided me with a captivating message of the importance of family and how family can make one mature and influence in continuing their passion. Zach Braff made a good initiative in incorporating this story into a film. I was shocked at the mixed reviews, but this film is worth watching with a family.

Esta película retrata perfectamente a personajes reales. Puedes identificarte con cualquier personaje. Me gustan los filmes como este que te dejan la cabeza dando vueltas. Te hacen pensar, reflexionar y revalorar tu vida. Necesitamos más cine como este. Esta película te moverá el piso al entender cómo pequeñas decisiones definen tu vida sin darte cuenta.

Ok movie overall but could have done without the F bombs.... ruins an otherwise fairly decent story line. Main actress is overrated.

Really good watch, could watch again, and can recommend. Big fan of Joey King ("The Act"), and Kate Hudson ("How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days"), and even Zach Graff ("Scrubs") and Josh Gad ("Frozen") give a great performance. Unfortunately, while it has comedic elements, it's not a terribly funny movie. It's more like taking a serious situation and presenting it to someone in a very palatable, if obvious fashion. This is a "life is hard", mixed with "tragic family event" tropes with some nice multi-threading for sub plots. While it's a nice story of pushing through adversity, it's still a heavy story, a sad story, but (like in real life) it's about getting past the bad to grow the good.

Zach Braff's second attempt in film making wasn't as charming s his first but the film had good humour and good acting.

What a pretentious piece of garbage. It started out with promise, but descended into a monumental bore fest of self indulgent crap. Really Zach Braff? This is embarrassing. And Kate Hudson so uninspiring. If they could bottle this movie it would make the perfect emetic.

This movie was meandering at best. I didn't feel like the story was very cohesive or coherent. I thought Kate Hudson and Mandy Patinkin did well in their roles, and appreciated the cameo from Donald Faison. Other than that, this movie was pretty rotten to me.

So enjoyed this funny heartfelt movie. Give this movie a chance!

wish i was here is a film as sad as comic, with a great philosophical morality of how bad it can go wrong and never believe in your dreams

I thought the movie was good. It touched on a lot of different topics and was kind of like real life bad things happen to people but its not that they all get magically fixed but as an adult you must work through it and this movie showcases this point a lot.

Very good film, and one of this films that makes you pause for a moment to consider values and what's most important.

Loved this film. Heartfelt and Funny

A well-intentioned near miss I would go for. It's been 10 years since 'Garden State' and you can't shake the feeling that when this film works it's basically GS2 and when it fails it's rehashing bits from the cutting room floor that didn't make it in to GS. There is such emotion and romance in the ideas that I did enjoy the film probably about 100 times more than I should have done, but really it was on a soapy, 'I'm never going to watch this again' kind of way. Braff's 3rd film looks absolutely terrible so perhaps this is the last effort we'll see from him to put this ideas and experiences on screen, but that would be a shame. I still feel like he definitely has another great film in there somewhere.

There's a lot of familiarity in the story here, but the crisp writing, laughs, and warm sentiments born out of dysfunction makes for an enjoyable movie.
