Women is Losers Reviews
I totally loved this movie. I really connected with the mother and her journey because she reminded me of my mother and her journey. I also love this story because it depicts the story of many of the imported people in America. This is a must watch movie. Lisette Feliciano is an amazing director.
A great movie that tackles the challenges faced by a single mother going through many challenges and overlooks the laws and progress America has as a country with its human rights around the world especially focussing on women's rights in a pretty beautiful way. Had an amazing lead with great emotional builds and a consistent well thought fast pace that worked well in telling this story of the movie. The relationships established earlier on felt way more connecting than the ones that were messy or sprinkled throughout. The 4th wall breaks and smart cinematography with a soundtrack and unique directing had this movie going for a great run but the lack of emotional empowerment and some sloppy drive into the plot pulled it away from being as good as it could've been.
Interesting story, well acted and photographed. An important historical look at discrimination and abortion.
Such a compelling film with a beautiful story told though Lorenza Izzo's character. If you're tired of being bombarded with reboots, superhero films, and sequels, and just want to see something fresh and original...THIS MOVIE IS IT.
This is an amazing film by a young woman who knows her subject inside and out. Her characters are alive and her story involves her own family and herself. Aware as she is of the use of breaking the fourth wall in comedy, she uses it to engage with her audience. I cannot recommend this film enough.
You've come a long way, baby. Reliving life — and lack of choices — for a woman during the '60s and '70s in @WomenIsLosers movie at @heartlandfilm festival, let's never go back. Treat women with respect. And vote like your life depends on it. It truly does. #WomenIsLosers #HIFF30
If you like activism that is immature & vindictive - suuure watch this movie. Intriguing concepts malled by a shallow script that dictates the scenes for the audience. The potential to have a discussion about domestic abuse was hindered with a cartoon villain from a telenovela for an ‘abusive' dad - he might as well wave a flag that reads "I'm the abusive alcoholic stepdad - this is my parking spot - the interracial couple are 3 doors down!"
Lissette Feliciano seamlessly blends together a unique audience engagement (breaking the fourth wall) with a beautifully written historical fiction narrative. The story is not only compelling and fresh, but gives room for insanely well done performances by Lorenza Izzo and Simu Liu. Very excited to see what Feliciano does next.
Great energy and a strong cast all around!
